Arm and Finger Knitting blog tour

Brrr! This chilly weather couldn’t have come at a better time, as we’re feeling super inspired after the blog tour for Laura Strutt’s first book with us, Arm & Finger Knitting! Lots of these projects knit up quickly, so you can have a homemade blanket on your knees in no time at all! What could be better? The tour visited lots of our favorite knitting blogs and we were delighted that they took to this new craft as heartily as we have. We've gathered up all these posts into one handy place for you here. Read on to see what they thought...

We started the week over at Make It Shabby with a review and an interview with Laura (below). They said that it was hard to decide which project they wanted to try out first!

We then popped by Little Squish, who despite having never tried arm or finger knitting before, had really got the bug. ‘The instructions are clear and easy to understand, the photographs throughout the book are gorgeous and the projects are really well-designed.’ You can see her version of the infinity scarf on her website!

Very Berry also made the infinity scarf and loved how gratifying it was to have something to wear almost immediately, and we definitely agree.

On Thursday, we were at Jean Moss Knits, who appreciated the range of projects in the book, with ‘something for every knitter’.

Up until Friday, the bloggers had mostly focused on the arm knitting, so it was nice that Crafts from the Cwtch particularly liked these patterns, including the above storage baskets. (She also coined the term ‘gateway craft’ which we are definitely adopting!)

Our tour even hopped across the pond, to Knitted Bliss who was really impressed, and struck by how much you could do with these two techniques.

This was followed by a lovely review on Katie Gets Crafty who said ‘this book is a real pleasure to follow with clear instructions and a natural flowing commentary throughout’.

And last but by no means least, we were over at A Creative Being with another great review, professing love for this gilet!

Phew! What a lovely week! Recurring theme was definitely appreciating how easy it is to pick up the techniques and skills, as well as the speed at which you can knit something up. No-needle knitting for all, we say!
