Story Time;

Later in march, M & I took a 5 day trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee.  Every day we explored more & more of the park. ell, one day I decided that I wanted to see Laurel Falls. We pulled up & it had just rained the night before. I grabbed one of the self guided tour pamphlets & we started our hike.  I was 5 months pregnant with Liam at the time & we thought this would be fun to do.  For those of you who don’t know, Laurel Falls is a hiking trail in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Tennessee. It’s a 2.6 mile hike, up hills and through paths to get to see a beautiful fall.  I was too out of shape for this hike & I didn’t realize it until it was too late.  The very 1st picture M took on one of my many “breaks” to sit down & catch my breath. Lol. We kept hiking, stopping at the various markers numbered for the self guided tour.   After hiking for like what seemed forever, with about 10 breaks thrown in, we made it to what you see in the rest of the pictures. I didn’t realize it, but the pamphlet had skipped a couple of numbers & was now at the end of the tour, it said we were at the falls. M & I laughed for a good 20 minutes at the fact that we just hiked for an hour to see a storm drain. We laughed and laughed some more, then we decided to go back to the car, so we could go see a real waterfall before the sun went down.  We ended up going to a beautiful spot & seeing multiple waterfalls.  However, once we got back to the lodge & were in front of the fireplace, I took out the pamphlet that we got at Laurel Falls. I decided to read it again to get a better look at it. At this point it was dry. I never realized either (pregnancy brain) that with my gloves on, while we were doing the tour, I couldn’t tell that the pages were wet & stuck together. I looked at M & said “I think we missed part of the tour.” He asked me what did I mean. I opened up the rest of the pamphlet and turns out we only went halfway. We never even made it to the falls. We laughed at the storm drain, but ended up not even making it the full ways there. We laughed again because the almost mile that we did walk was hell for me & I couldn’t have walked the rest of the way up there to the falls if I wanted to.  However, it is on my bucket list to go back & finally see the falls.  We should be going back in June 2020, so hopefully I’ll get to then.
