The Lore Can Wait

This is for @thing-you-do-with-that-thing SPN Hiatus Challenge, Week 3.  The prompt is, “Could you be any louder?”

Sam was up to his eyeballs in ancient texts about sirens when he finally realized you were calling his name.

“Sam! Sammy! Earth to Sam Winchester! Look, a clown!” Giggling at the panicked look on Sam’s face, you winked at him.  “Made you look!” you teased.

“What?” Sam snapped irritably.

“Are you DEAF, Dude?” Dean demanded.  “Come, ON. You comin’ or not?”

It was then that Sam noticed you and Dean both had your coats on.  “Coming where?” 

“To the bar, Genius!  If I do another second of research, my eyeballs will fall out!”  You sighed dramatically.

“I have a lot of research I want to do tonight,” Sam said stubbornly.

“Come ON, Sam! Who’s gonna be my wingman when Dean inevitably ditches me for some bar skank?” You whined.

“Hey!” Dean said indignantly.

“I’m not in the mood,” Sam repeated.

“Nevermind, then.  Forget we asked.  Come on Dean.” You said quietly, walking towards the door, shoulders slumped.

Dean looked at his brother critically. “One of these days when you hit puberty your gonna realize there’s more to life than research and studying the lore, Sammy.”  Leaving Sam to ponder this he walked out to join you in the garage.

“My brother is an idiot,” Dean told you as you drove to the bar.

“No, he’s not, Dean.  He just doesn’t see me that way.  I have to accept it and move on.  It’s pointless to chase after a guy who’s clearly not interested.” You said, trying not to cry.

Dean rolled his eyes.  “Oh, he’s interested.  I’ve seen him checking out your ass more than once.  I know my brother.  He’s interested.  He watches you when he knows your not looking.”

You snorted with laughter. “Whatever. I just want to get drunk and not think about Sam.  Can we do that?”

Once you were at the bar, you knocked shots back like they were water as you rebuffed the advances of one guy after another. None of them were enormous Moose with huge brains, even bigger hearts, and smiles that made you melt.  

Dean had been exchanging come-hither looks with a hot blonde that had eventually led to conversation.  He was on the verge of sealing the deal when he noticed how drunk you really were.  He couldn’t in good conscience leave you here. 

Alcohol tended to act like truth serum for you.  An idea began to form in his mind.  Telling his conquest he just needed to run you home, he promised he’d be right back.

“Where’s the fire?” You demanded as Dean hustled you into the Impala.

“I’m taking you home.  You know, Y/N, you should tell Sam what a moron he is.  He needs to know what a dumbass he’s being.” Dean suggested.

“He sure does!” You agreed. “He would be lucky to have me!” 

Dean pulled up to the bunker, and once you were in safely, he went back to town and his company for the night.

You tripped over the door jam and stumbled over a discarded pair of Dean’s boots. Your purse flew out of your hand and fell down the stairs, spewing its contents everywhere.

“Dammit!” you yelled in frustration.

Sam came running up the steps, gun raised.  You shrieked in alarm, knocked into Sam, and almost succeeded in pushing you both down the stairs.  Luckily one of you was sober, so you managed to stay upright.

“Could you be any louder?” He asked you. “For a hunter your certainly clumsy.”

“Fuck off, Winchester, for someone so smart, your pretty dumb AND blind,” you told him, pushing off him and wobbling down the stairs, your purse forgotten. Sam came after looking confused.

“What’s that supposed to mean? Where’s Dean?”

You sighed dramatically. “Dean’s with his flavor of the minute. He made me come home because he said I was too drunk. Is it hot in here? I think it’s hot. I need a beer.”

You suddenly slipped your arms inside your shirt and wiggled around.  The next minute you produced a black lacy bra which you threw on the floor with a flourish. “Whew, much better!  That thing was pinching me!”

You tottered off to the kitchen to get a beer.  “I TOLD you Dean would ditch me!   I wish HE was the one I liked because I would have gotten laid by now. Shoulda chose him instead of…..oh never mind.”

You fished around in the fridge for a beer, and finding one, uncapped it and took a long swallow.  When you turned around, Sam was standing in front of you, your bra dangling from his finger.

“Who did you choose, Y/N? Who do you like?” Sam asked you in a quiet voice.

“Poor, dumb, oblivious Moose.  You really have no idea, do you?” You reached up and gently caressed his cheek. “Maybe you should check the lore, that’s what you’re good at.” You made a move to walk around him, but his huge hand closed around your wrist and held you steady.

“I’m not nearly as oblivious as you think I am,” Sam growled, slamming his lips to yours and swallowing your yelp of surprise.  You melted against him, and he deepened the kiss, cupping your face as his tongue ravaged your mouth.

“It’s a shame your not into me, because you would get so lucky right now.” You murmured, leaning against Sam for support.  He picked you up in his arms and carried you out of the kitchen towards his room.

“Screw the lore.  It can wait.”

Thank the stars Dean is ok! I’m worried about the Gordon thing and Dean seems to have decided that he will protect her no matter what and I don’t want this to turn sad. I’m glad Bobby is happy and we finally unlocked Jo’s surprising backstory. Dean and the reader are adorable and I love this series so much can’t I just protect the sweet babies?!

Hahaha!! I knew you’d be happy about that Lauren! Dean will do anything to protect her, and really, I think she’d do anything to protect him too. Yes, Jo has been hiding out on us and I think it was good for her to finally reveal that, especially to the reader so they can move forward and stop hating each other. Which needs to happen with EIlen and Bobby! I think the stars might have something coming up for you. ;)

I love this so much! I have never related to Dean more than him being nervous in the reptile house. I love their relationship so much and I hope that this fluff streak continues because I really want them to be happy

Hahahah!! That’s amazing! Snakes are so cool, what are you talking about?!? Hahaha!! Okay, some snakes are a little sketchy. 

I don’t know why, but I really enjoy how you said that you hope the fluff streak continues... But you’ve been with me for a while now, so I feel like you know me a little too well. I’m excited for you to read what is to come, and hope that you enjoy what’s ahead! :) 

More Than a Fling part 6

Hoping that storm isn’t foreshadowing because they’re just so lovely together and I’m not ready to lose the fluffy fluff I just love this series so much!

Hahahah! I don’t really know how to answer this. I mean obviously I could tell you, but then what fun would that be? I will tell you that their love is something strong, and it’s going to take more than little thunderstorm to pull them apart. Hell, I don’t even think Hurricane Gordon could rip the two of them apart...well maybe. I’m going to shut up now.

More than a fling is everything and more!!!!! Dean has Bobby’s trust and Dean is absolutely perfect and this road trip is going to be so good for the two of them! I’ve missed this universe so much and knowing it’s back for more than just a one shot is how it would feel if there was an eighth Harry Potter book just absolute euphoria and such a feeling of coming home. Thank you for continuing this series

I don’t know how you do it, but every time you leave me a message, I am completely speechless. You never fail to make me smile, and feel like I’ve done something good. It’s really reassuring so thank you for that! 

I’m glad you think that this trip is going to be good for them. It’s going to be interesting to see how they grow with where they are going, and how their relationship develops further. I am going to say that there is A LOT of relationship development in this sequel series, and it’s not just with Dean and the reader as a couple, and I’m REALLY excited to share that aspect as much as I am their growth. 

And thank you for the Harry Potter comment! You completely made my day!! Thank you for reading it and enjoying it! I hope you continue to enjoy what this series has to offer :)
