It’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted any stuff about my Sci-Fi setting (that I promise I’ll do something with someday) - called Layers. Filled with posthumans, specevo creatures, and weird hypertech in artificial environments divided into layers! But also these three goobers - Garo, Pett, and Dog. Garo and Pett are both posthumans, their distant ancestors being genetically modified humans who then further settled and diversified in vastly different environments. Dog has much a similar backstory, though their ancestors were once corvids, altered to become larger, flightless, and even more prone to intelligence.
And then them enjoying some rain. In Pett’s layer, there’s seasonal weather, so rain is familiar and comforting to her, a good chance to strip down and shower. Garo isn’t sure how she feels about water just...falling from the ceiling, given that it doesn’t rain in her layer and she’s not super fond of bodies of water as a whole.
Dog doesn’t like rain because it’s cold and wet. They understand it, and have weather where they’re from, but uh. No. No thank you. Make the water stop.
