audio intro

cosmic dream radio, Episode 3.5

I made an "Audio Intro" all professional like and then ruined it by sounding like a young college radio host. 

I like every episode to be it's own individual thing without all that credit bullshit no one wants to listen to over and over again. 

I want you to download these radio poems and pop songs.  Have them mingle in playlists with whatever cool stuff you like.

I recently started making what I call “cosmic dream radio”—like radio plays of poems.  Is this sound art?

I am a writer and performance maker in Brooklyn, NY, who recently bought some basic equipment to make audio from words.  My first project made Studio360’s (a national public radio show in the states’) blues remix top 10 list…I felt affirmed.

I am trying to find people who might care about these things I make.  I have trouble figuring out what tags to use and was excited when your blog popped up in my “recommended for you” box on tumblr!

John Cage's Lecture on Nothing. Metronome at 50 for each measure. With background noise and accidents: apropos? Cage's notes to the lecture: "This lecture was printed in Incontri Musicali, August 1959. There are four measures in each line and twelve lines in each unit of the rhythmic structure. There are forty-eight such units, each having forty-eight measures. The whole is divided into five large parts, in the proportion 7, 6, 14, 14, 7. The forty-eight measures of each unit are likewise so divided. The text is printed in four columns to facilitate a rhythmic reading. Each line is to be read across the page from left to right, not down the columns in sequence. This should not be done in an artificial manner (which might result from an attempt to be too stirictly faithful to the position of the words on the page), but with the rubato which one uses in everyday speech."
