h.r. 2616 is a bill that, if passed, will require that schools prohibit from teaching about "gender ideology," (trans peoples rights and existence) using a students preferred name and pronouns and will force educators to our all trans students to their parents, no matter the risk.
this bill WILL kill trans kids. trans people already have high suicide, sexual assult and domestic violence rates, this will make it much worse for the most vulnerable of the community. the bill will be voted on in the senate soon as it has already passed the house. it has not been given a date for voting yet, so keep an eye on the news. contact your reps using 5calls.org and tell them to vote against it! reblog posts on the topic, keep looking at the news for updates and keep informed! non americans should amplify trans americans voices and keep spreading the word!
