Businesses are in business to make a profit, they are not in the business of being a social enterprise. However, when a CEO of a company makes tens of millions of dollars and lays off people one has to wonder if he is making a hard decision based on what is good for his company or good for his bonus and Wall Street. How can American corporations expect more loyalty out of employees when hard work and good company profits mean more layoffs ? What are employees supposed to think when they get a 2% raise while their CEO gets a $12 million bonus ?
