What I love about this fic:

Featuring all of Starry’s favorite tropes, we’ve got disaster!Harry, snarky!Draco, interesting magical world building, a delightfully entertaining plot idea, and of course, the sweet, sweet dynamics between our boys.  This fic will make you laugh, make your heart ache for Harry, and rejoice in emotional healing (which he needs).

What I love about this podfic: 

Lazulus is an absolutely stellar podficcer, and I could leave my rec at that, but.  The characters in this fic are so soft and aching ‘round the edges, and Lazulus’ voices for them highlight that achiness while also keeping the snap and sarcasm that pops between them in the writing.  Lazulus has a really special way of doing Draco’s voice that makes it rather hard to hear him read any other way.

Reccer Notes: Quick, one more rec from me this month in my capacity as official reccer! This one is another one of my favourites by Lazulus. I know I already rec’d one of their podfics this month but I can’t help myself XD. I love the way this story develops, and Lazulus brings their characters to life with just their voice so beautifully, I’ll probably never get over it. Even just the narration is spot on, bringing the right amount of emotion to the reading to let me sink into it, but not so much as to overwhelm me. This is the kind of podfic you can listen to before bed, or while doing chores, or anywhere really. It's a perfect fit for everything. Fanwork Link(s): AO3

5 happy things

tagged by @seriously-mary-though (*dankeschön* :)) to post 5 things that make me happy right now… which is difficult because i’m rather miserable right now. or angrysad. mr. i-told-you-so is in the house. downstairs, thank god. on the other hand i blame “my” hormones (t'is the time of month, argh) but i’ll try:

1. drinking tea from a pretty cup

2. having a lovely book (well, fic actually, again) waiting for me at my bedsidetable

3. my car’s doors open again after being frozen shut the last few days (car’s old, 17 y, and there is water leaking through the fairing somewhere)

4. looking forward to the morning-dog-stroll because i’m in the middle of a so lovely podfic (dogwalk time is podfic time, except when the kids are coming. then i have a constant stream of words hailing down on me)

5. i have my favourite jam in the fridge. rosehip. (my breakfast tomorrow: rosehip jam on curd on sunflower seed bread)

i feel much better now :)

Disentanglement! [Hi, Pru! Hi!]

Hi, Laz.

Disentanglement is the hardest story I have ever written, and so harrowing in its exposure of myself I can't reread it for personal horror reasons. The line in that story, about how Eduardo's father's love is the kind you endure from a distance, is something I have said about my own father. And the things Eduardo thought about how he foolishly felt insulated from pain from Mark are things I said (probably to you, Laz!) while I was making my flight from London. It's a story I wrote like people cut necrotic flesh out of a patient or amputate a limb.
