This slow cooker breakfast casserole is hearty and tasty, and it's great for a crowd or a lazy morning at home.
Ingredients: 1 lb 450g breakfast sausage. 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese. 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese. 6 large eggs. 2 cups milk. 1 tsp salt. 1/2 tsp black pepper. 1/2 tsp garlic powder. 1/2 tsp onion powder. 4 cups cubed bread preferably stale. 1/2 cup diced bell peppers. 1/2 cup diced onions.
Instructions: Cook the breakfast sausage in a pan until it turns brown and breaks up. Remove any extra grease. Add eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder to a large bowl and mix them together using a whisk. Put half of the bread cubes into the slow cooker. Add bell peppers, onions, half of the cooked sausage, and both cheeses on top. Do it again with the rest of the ingredients. Spread the egg mix out over the things in the slow cooker. Put the lid on top and set the heat to low. Cook for 4 to 6 hours, or until the casserole is set and the bread is golden brown. If you want, you can serve it hot with extra shredded cheese and fresh herbs on top.
