A sequel
By Your Side
Based off a ML fic I liked and part of a Discord conversation from forever ago, basically Future Bai He possesses her past self to make sure LBD never escapes after everyone dies. Part of that is getting rid of everyone who helped LBD, including Ironbull. I was in the mood for creepy.
Red Son jolted.
He wasn't sure what woke him up. Tonight had been a night where he actually managed to fall asleep in his bed. He squinted at the clock on his bedside drawer. It was hard to make out the time without his glasses, but it was early in the morning, too early to stir.
Later, he was unsure of how he missed the girl.
When he did, he jolted again.
The girl appeared to be an ordinary human child. She wore a simple yellow sweater and pink skirt, her hair braided back. She sat at his bedside criss-cross applesauce, her features arranged in eerie blankness. She held a key, lightly tapping it against her foot. The key itself was white and appeared to be delicate, as though carved from bone. It actually matched to the lock on the tomb he and his parents dug up. She seemed to glow white in the moonlight that drifted through his window.
"…hello?" he tried after a few seconds. "How did you get down here?" Logic prevailed that Red Son should grab her or order a Bull Clone to throw her in the dungeon, but she was a child. Plus, he needed to know the gaps in security.
The girl didn't answer. She just stared.
"Are you alright?" Concern was beginning to take over the creepiness. Red Son sat up and grabbed his glasses to get a better look. "I can-"
She got up.
Without a word, she walked to the door. Red watched as she left on silent footsteps. After a long moment, he heard a door swing open and close in the distance.
…okay. That was weird. His parents needed to know.
Red Son got out of bed, grabbing his robe and pulling it on. When he poked his head out, he shivered. That was strange. The fortress wasn't cold, even when the forge was dark and the lights were dimmed like they were now. However, right now, there was a bone-chilling cold, both around his body and in his spirit.
He picked up speed, marching down the halls as though he would outrun the cold. His breath puffed out in small white clouds. His feet, usually clad in slippers, ached from the bare contact of the cold hard floor. All of this made the feeling that the girl had brought with her so much worse.
And then he reached his parents' door.
It was opened. Not by much, just a crack. Still, the sight of it sent a shiver down Red's spine. His mother preferred the door closed all the way. He couldn't even see the small nightlight he had made for his father, nor the TV quietly blaring Cooking with Chang'E.
His usual routine was to knock. Instead, Red pushed the door open.
"Mother? Father? I don't mean to wake you, but-"
His eyes adjusted to the darkness.
A scream ripped its way from his throat.
A little comic of one of my favorite scenes from my fic! They are father & daughter, your honour!
Macaque would totally take Bai He (LBD’s hostess) to see Six: The Musical.
Macaque: “So what do we think about kings who kill people for not doing what they say?”
Bai He: “They’re really bad and mean and unforgivable!”
Macaque, loudly while glaring at FFM: “That’s RIGHT!”
Bonus:
He’s a dad your honor
I’m going to blame Macaque
It actually happened guys
