Another Day

So this is possibly the hardest thing I have ever done. It is painful not to share yourself and dreams for fear of scaring the person you want to share with. I rode in the car with him and it physically hurt not to hold his hand.

The part that hurt the most was later that evening, I was in the car with our son, and we were chatting about monsters and super heroes like normal. He looked out the window and then turned and said "dad I miss mom". I told him mom was back at the house since he was not in the show with us, we were on our way to rehearsal. He said I know but he isn't the same. He always seems to be so busy and wants to talk to everyone but you and me. I tried to assure him that mom was there for him and I was always there if he needed to talk about anything. He looked at me and said but who do you talk to? Every time you talk to him he gets mad and you look very sad.

I told him I would be fine and I was glad that he was looking out for me. I had not realized that the walls that had been put up had become so inclusive that they were now projected to our son.
