Anywho have papa cale and his babys 😼
I feel like we as a fandom need to just randomly send this to each other.
Life is hard and we’re all managing to survive somehow. We need a cute Raon sometimes.
Idk why but this reminded me of Raon. He really be encouraging AND learning from Cale lol.
Raon eating under the table never stops making me smile, even if it is all sweets, because that's all Cale apparently has interest in eating at banquets too:
I mean, look at our baby! So cute! So mighty!
And look at our weak human sneaking the mighty and majestic dragon his food!
Again, sweets (cake!) Someone tell Cale there are other types of food out there too...
Tho, the smile on Raon's face is all worth it :)
Twins in AU from the last post And Raon in egg
With this story being - in large parts - told from Cale's perspective, it's quite easy to be fooled by his nonchalance and indifference. He himself is so adept at telling himself that he's trash; that he doesn't care and only does things for his own benefit that he never even questions himself on it.
Cale truly thinks he's trash. He does a load of good for everyone, but in his mind it's all for himself (himself and his people).
That is why I love the few glimpses we get from other people's perspective on him - Rosalyn and Archie noting how he gets along with everyone regardless of race and creed; Choi Han mentioning that the face Cale makes while using his shield shows his true feelings; Ron continuously doting on that puppy master of his - all lovely.
But arguably the nicest and most honest thing we see of Cale is probably the most random thing, too. It's when he, the kids and Choi Han are about to go and pose as 'The Real Arm' with the bandits and Cale tells Choi Han that he just wants the Western Continent to be peaceful.
We only get this once. We never see be Cale this calm and this honest again, it's just this one time and it's arguably one of the most beautiful scenes - both for the characters and visually.
Hands down one of my favourite scenes in the entire novel and so deeply underrated.
