self-indulgent ask, but what if in contrast to the other ask about reader singing high pitched, what if she's a metalhead? would the guys be more bothered by her screams (and vocal range) or the lyrics (like if she sung snuff by slipknot)

I don't know any heavy metal, but screaming would probably be ill advised in front of most of the boys, at least without warning.

Error and Cross would get major sensory overload.

Nightmare just finds it unsettling and distracting from your daily tasks.

Horror is primarily confused and amused by it, but if you caught him during one of his amnesia episodes, it might startle him. When he can't remember if he's in the castle or the underground, a human screaming may not bring out the best in him....

Dust... doesn't love loud noises... and is also prone to attacking things that scare or startle him.

Killer would be down. You can come to the giant opera house Nightmare has. Why does he have that? Y'know, for convincing the broadway and opera tours of various of his kingdoms under duress to perform for the family! The acoustics are great, and it's noise cancelling. Ideal alone time.

Ok but if we were to assign Dust a constellation then... would he accept that as a pet name?

For which my more basic ideas were Corvus, for crow, Reticulum (perhaps a bit long but it's that or Sextans, which considering he lives with Killer and Horror and Himself..I think I couldn't handle the obvious bad jokes abt that). Another part of me wants to say Lupus, because my brain loves linking Dust to wolves, but idk how well that works in your fc, maybe one of the eagle ones??

Though I think my favourite idea was Fornax, the furnace, since he runs hot and is apparently a big snuggler in the future? Very cozy. Either that or research would be done into monster constellations if there were any? Mayhaps in outertale...

A follow up to this ask

Dust dislikes star signs but would like a nickname based on constellation names. You'd have to explain which constellations you were referring to, as monsters have their own names for most of them.

Please try to only refer to him with a nickname in private, though. Or he's going to get teased even worse than when Killer first overheard Horror call him "bunny".

Speaking of rabbit-like creatures, a good constellation nickname might be Lepus, the hare constellation near Orion.

Sooo I’m autistic and I collect these random things I find like rocks, acorns, anything I find interesting for some reason even if it’s just trash. They’re basically just normal things I find cool like a white rock or an orange rock with stripes that ‘reminds me of a tiger’ and I just sorta keep them in my room and stare at them sometimes. Sometimes I give them to people, but only my absolute FAVORITE people in the world so how would the boys react if I gave my random trinkets to them?

At first Nightmare would find this confusing. It is pleasant that you think to bring him things, and he can sense the love and closeness behind the gesture. It seems similar to how Cross collects items, but where that is a response to the trauma of Xtale, yours seems inherently tied to your self.

He does find a good use for the natural items, particularly the rocks, which can be placed in the Japanese-style rock gardens he’s built or line the segments of the greenhouse.

Cross really loves this. He’s always collecting things as well, and would start exchanging trinkets with you. He keeps most of them on a shelf in his bedroom, with anything extra meaningful (like something you gave him on an anniversary or date) in a keepsake box. Some end up in the extra room Nightmare gave him to decorate—he wanted Cross to have somewhere to make entirely his own.

Error doesn’t really have many things in the anti-void. It…. Feels weird. To hold something as simple as a rock or an acorn. Plants are the one that get him the most. He can’t remember the surface timelines he experienced well.

He tells you he supposes that they add a bit of colour and a natural vibe to his place. That they make it more like the original timeline.

But secretly? He really likes them. He likes collecting things.

This would probably incite him to show you the dolls he makes and let you touch them a lot sooner than normal.

Killer fucks with it. Hell yeah you’re gonna start a rock collection. Did you know Dust has a giant crystal and rock room? That you and he should definitely try to steal from to start a rival rock room?

(This plan wouldn’t work out… Dust would be furious and Nightmare would return all stolen property to the original room. You may keep your own rock room if you’d like though, and Killer would make his own shelf with it full of “killer rocks” you gave him.)

Dust likes rocks and crystals… and especially sparky ones. He’d accept all of your gifts and keep them, but the rocks would excite him the most. He has a microscope, if you’d like to take a closer look at the structure of them… and he’ll make space in his collection for what you give him, writing a small note next to each detailing its likely chemical composition.

Horror finds it sweet. While Killer sure loves gifting things to the people he loves, he only does it for them on big occasions. And the others aren’t really the type to gift little trinkets outta the blue. His favourite part is really hearing why it caught your eye and seeing your expression light up. An’ keeping the items is a way to remember that.

He would also go out of his way to bring you to cool AUs where you could find interesting things.

The Alien Stage headcanon along with some recent news may have inspired me a bit...what would the boys think of Epic: The Musical? Favorite songs/sagas/moments etc.? I feel like there's a little something for everyone there...

Killer: Musically he would like the Vengeance and Circe sagas equally because of the Hermes songs. But he’d most enjoy watching the songs with fight scenes/confrontations with the gods.

Dust: His favourite saga would be the Thunder Saga. It’s exciting, fast-paced, and brutal.

Horror: His favourite saga would be the Wisdom Saga. He'd vibe with how the sound changes throughout it, especially in God Games.

Just a Man would unsettle Horror deeply. Killing to survive... he can understand. But a baby? Then again... he understands full what it's like for the gods to intervene in your life. He sees it when Dust sits motionless on the battlefield, unable to will himself to even come home.

Cross: He would also enjoy the fight scenes, unironically enjoy the jetpack scene, and lose his mind over the romance. His favourite saga would be the Ithica saga, with "Would you Fall in Love with Me Again" being his overall favourite song.

Nightmare: would enjoy it significantly. He’s read Homer’s works, and the concept of adapting them into a musical form is fascinating. His favourite sagas would be the Cyclops and Ithica sagas—they’re closest to the original story, and he is interested in both mythological monsters as well as the romance between Penelope and Odysseus.

The only thing he would hate is the jet pack scene, so you’d have to find an animatic that works around it.

Error: Specifically enjoys the Ocean Saga. Ruthlessness is absolutely mercy on yourself, and he wishes you would stop singing the song and absorb the message so you could join him in correcting the multiverse....

You've mentioned the fam has regular movie nights, but what are their favorites? Genre and/or one specific title?

On that note, if there's a clash in tastes, how do they decide which one gets watched?

They'd probably have a rotating system for who gets to pick the movie, but Killer and Horror frequently pass on their turns because they don't really care what the film is (Killer because he loves variety and even enjoys watching bad films for the funnies, Horror because he values the time together more than the activity).

The only real rule for movie night is no horror films or anything overly gorey/violent. Dust and Killer watch those separately, as Horror can't handle them.

As for favourites....

Dust would very much be a science fiction fanatic, especially if the science fiction is set in space or involves alien lifeforms in any way. His favourite would be tales about seeking out and exploring new planets, with Interstellar and Project Hail Mary being particular favourites of his.

Horror would love films with strong focuses on family and friendships, and the importance of connection with others. Medium/individual genre would be less important to him than that.

I think he would also love Project Hail Mary as well as Wolf Children and The Chronicles of Narnia.

Nightmare would LOVE period pieces/historical dramas as well as documentaries (both history and nature) and musicals. Among those genres, his favourites would be stories that involve romance.

He would find Little Women to be a particularly interesting film given that it spans multiple points during the lives of the characters and for its commentary on familial bonds and womenhood. He would also adore The Tale of Princess Kaguya (the Ghibli film) because he is absolutely a lover of traditional folktales and would be facinated by the artstyle and melancholy ending.

But his favourite films would be Pride and Prejudice and The Sound of Music.

Cross would love romances and fantasy films. He would probably quite like The Princess Bride and Howl's Moving Castle.

He would also have a bit of a soft spot for old black and white films, given that his own universe was nearly entirely black and white. It feels homey. It's a Wonderful Life and Miracle on 34th Street would be must-watches around Giftmas.

Killer would love action films. Give him anything with decent combat and a tense plot, and he's game. He'd have a good time watching any Star Wars/Marvel/DC movie, Hunger Games, etc, but he usually insists on picking new movies and rarely has favourites. What's the point in having access to every movie ever made in the whole multiverse if you're going to watch the SAME THING over and over?

He'd also adore a good comedy.

Error very rarely bothers to join in for movie nights, and usually only does so at Nightmare's behest. But he is in it for the dramas. Anything with a convoluted family or romance drama plotline is his favourite type of film. He isn't one to bother rewatching movies when he could be binge watching new tv episodes, so he doesn't have any particular favourites.

Hey! I noticed that you like Alien Stage, so I wanted to ask, what would the boys think of it?

If the reader was really into the fandom and the songs, and wanting to buy all the merch, perhaps even cosplay??

Would any of them be interested themselves, do you think? (And listen to all the songs on loop like I do)

Maybe they would even have a favorite character?? One they kin or just like the vibes of??

Killer and Dust would definitely vibe with the thriller/dystopia vibes of it. Killer probably would get too into the music and lose track of the plot, while Dust is immediately discussing all the tiny details it usually takes a few rewatches to notice. Killer loves pop/upbeat music, so he'd definitely relisten to Hyuna and Till's tracks. He also would be down to cosplay... so long as you get to dance to Ruler of My Heart together (definitely not an excuse for him to do a sexy wolf whistle at you).

Character-wise, Killer would like Mizi starting when she cuts her hair, and also Hyuna. Dust would find Sua and Luka facinating.

Cross would be absolutely distraught at the end of the show. What do you mean half of them are dead and the humans are still pets? He'd still have had a good time watching it because he enjoys action scenes, and interesting worldbuilding. He could probably be swayed to cosplay with you as well. As for characters, I think he would like Ivan and Sua because of their loyalty to the one they loved. He, too, would die for you.

The violence isn't too extreme in Alien Stage, and falls in a mostly predictable pattern at the end of each round, so Horror would be down for watching it as well. But it's.... kind of... disturbing for him. Not the violence, per say... but the humans as pets thing. The leash around one's neck during My Clematis. The boxes they put the kids in during MIZUSUA. It... reminds him of traps and freezer boxes. Puts things in perspective. He likes the later episodes that focus on the rebel humans more. He also likes the songs, even if they aren't his usual genre. He would probably relisten to Weige.

Nightmare enjoys consuming all kinds of stories. Television is something relatively new for him, and he sticks to engaging with it during movie nights or time spent together. He does love stories set in different worlds, and Alien Stage would be no different. He would enjoy looking through the concept art book with you as well to learn more about the process of creating it. Nightmare only really listens to classical or instrumental music, so he would likely only relisten if you play the soundtrack when you are together.

Error would only watch it alone with you, and only because it exists in the original universe. He likes the drama of it the most, and somewhat delights each time a relationship ends in tragedy. He's also a pop and soundtrack kind of skeleton, and would re-listen to the album in order.

after reading through other asks about the realm and what nightmare is willing to let us suggest adding, i wanted to ask if he would let us add more buildings and structures that we like?

like, maybe a traditional chinese pavilion on a lake? that’s something i personally would love to have: koi fish in the lake with lotus flowers and a nice place to have tea and enjoy the scenery!!

would the boys be open to wearing traditional hanfu with us and spending time there?

Nightmare would be quite open to adding more buildings to his realm, so long as they are elegant. A traditional chinese pavilion by a lake would fit perfectly into the chinese gardens he's slowly been building up (because he absolutely can and will collect plants from all kinds of regions and make a fancy subsection in the garden for them).

It would take a fair bit of construction, given that the main lake is far too preoccupied by echoflowers to be of any use for a tea time. Besides, it would appear far more romantic were he to build you a small lake of your own, with whatever variety of flowers are most to your liking.

The boys would absolutely be open to wearing hanfu and spending time there! Killer would mostly be hyped about getting to go shopping for hanfu with you, while Nightmare and Cross would be more interested in the part where they get to deck you out in long flowy dresses and pin different accessories through your hair.

Horror would enjoy getting to spend an afternoon all together having tea, even if he's not used to wearing something so formal. Dust likes the quiet of the western side of the gardens, but he's also unused to all this... fuss... about his outfit. He does like the expression you make when you see him in the outfit though... so the effort is worth it.

Error would... but he'd probably get you to buy him the materials so he could make the outfit to his liking. He's not exactly one to stroll into town to go shopping.

Nightmare would eventually make you all pose so he could paint you.

So I was rereading some of the asks you've gotten and I came to the one about Reader wanting to bring all sorts of animals to the castle. You mentioned that Nightmare maintains a certain group of ecosystems within his realm and does all of the research to make sure all of those animals have the proper habitat, food, etc. available for them naturally (which is really cool btw. Might be stealing that headcanon). Would he perhaps be interested in someone to help him with that? I love ecology and find it super fascinating. Maybe we could even work on figuring out a way to get Killer his sharks. Although for the record that doesnt mean I'll be swimming with them, I know most of them want nothing to do with people but still! Idk if he just wants them because theyre cool or he wants to swim with them but if he asks I will have to politely decline

Also if Killer keeps trying to bring a tiger back to the castle I will type a list of reasons (with citations) as to why the castle is not a good place for a tiger to live. I can't say I wouldn't be guilty though, I would probably have a couple snakes or lizards at least and maybe some bugs like scorpions or centipedes or millipedes (assuming they're allowed)

You would be welcome to indulge in the design of the natural parts of his realm. After all, he allows his men to occasionally choose creatures to inhabit the surrounding forests… his lover should have far more of a say in that.

All the varieties of shark Killer would pitch would be far too dangerous for casual swimming, and Nightmare would not be keen on the idea either. What would they possibly eat? He may however be swayed on small reef sharks or filter feeders like whale sharks.

As for the cats, Killer really just wants any sort of wildcat. You eventually settle on some of the small varieties— Pallas cats, black footed cats… and some rusty spotted cats (those tiny cats with leaf size kittens). But Nightmare only agrees because you sweet talk him into it… as a gift for your beloved Killer.
