Lu Guang caught the duo on their way to dinner when he wanted to give Xiaoshi the money to invest into the shop. Of course... Xiaoshi doesn't exactly want Qiao Ling to know he's potentially squeezing money out of someone, especially when he's already getting an earful from her about not having his life together. This is a while after their first case has wrapped up which Qiao Ling was... reporting on! She's a journalist! A change to get her immediately involved in the storylines while also giving the viewer another perspective, since she's not involved in their business (yet).

Cheng Xiaoshi’s actor Jiang Long has technically played a role in a danmei (boy’s love) drama adaptation.
I’m not sure how much of the Link Click fandom is also into danmei but I have been into it for years and have gone down some very interesting paths just because an actor once had the role of a man who was gay in the books.
I’ll explain my path of how I got here lastly, if people are interested BUT, for the lcla fans
Jiang Long played Bai Chi in a 2018 drama called S.C.I. The originally posted web novel series “S.C.I Mystery Collection” had 3 main bl couples. There was the main power-couple duo, the side couple (that the drama turned into a straight couple :( ) and then Bai Chi and Zhao Zhen were the third couple. And yes, they’re actually gay in the book.

S.C.I stands for Special Criminal Investigation about a detective and a psychologist that work together under this newly created special investigation team. Bai Chi is one of the main character’s cousin who is also a detective but is very timid and has little confidence, he also has a stutter. But he is just as exceptional when he gives himself a chance. He is a very likeable character, I feel like, in the same way CXS is, if that makes sense. Zhao Zhen is a world renowned magician who is actually the nephew of one of the big culprits. (he also gives major gender envy ;-;) If I remember correctly he started as a suspect, but then he became someone who helped on cases occasionally. And he is very good at teasing Bai Chi, lol
If you just enjoy watching Cheng Xiaoshi’s actor this would be a good watch especially if you like bromance dramas, murder mysteries, and psychological phenomena. And if you are okay with you know, a little bit of cringe and bad sfx lol. (just remember the one straight couple is actually gay in the books! it helps with the cringe)
My path to getting into this drama was that Luo Yunxi, who was casted to play Chu Wanning in Immortality (if it ever releases) is my favorite actor. I watch as many of his dramas as I can. His drama Love is Sweet has Gao Hanyu as the second ml/love rival. And Gao Hanyu plays the main character Bai Yutong in SCI. I actually watched this before I got into Link Click so when I saw that Jiang Long was casted as Cheng Xiaoshi I was like “I know this guy!!” and it made it more enjoyable!
