A chance encounter brought us to the whimsically charged, melodiously cavorting anthem that is LCMDF’s Waterfalls. It’s just the perky, peppy tune we need to lift our spirits and a wonderfully animated introduction to the edgy duo from Helsinki. Waterfalls is like Icona Pop mixed with DENA, with a twinge of Let’s Eat Grandma’s unpredictable idiosyncrasy. According to their Facebook profile, LCMDF (Le Corps Mince de Françoise) consists of sisters Emma and Mia Kemppainen. They kicked off their project back in 2007 and built a reputation for their raw electro-pop bangers, unapologetic attitude, and jolting live shows. They’ve since toured the world and they recently released their new album Sad Bangers, from whence comes sprightly bopping Waterfalls. Stream/download the record, here.

Mio’s Mountain - Into the Fog

The lead track from her EP “Room”, the escapist notions of “Into the Fog” are pulled straight from the imaginative mind of Mio’s Mountain. An alternate universe nestled within the alter-ego of LCMDF’s Mia Kemppainen, Mio’s Mountain represents an immersive pop experience from the Berlin-based, Finnish singer. Intertwining glitchy psychedelica with the beaming choir of her saccharine-pop bliss, the twitchy clunk “Into the Fog” is the first from her EP “Room”. Speaking on the parallels she has created between herself and her music, Mia refers to her latest explain as "a dark discussion with yourself” as she explains below:  

“’The Room’ is a dark discussion with yourself, a sophisticated approach to sadness and a portrayal of an inner current so strong it threatens to swallow you whole."
