Usually visitors to the island only stayed for a week or two before returning home, and those that did visit on birthdays tended to travel with family and friends to celebrate. However, the strange man, whose name she had learned from one of the nearby bakeries, had let slip to her that he had spent his birthday alone in the comfort of tea and pastries in their seating area. Alone?! How could one spend a birthday alone? And while on a vacation? No sooner had she heard such information, Mitsuri was scrambling around gathering flowers and jars of honey for an impromptu gift. It might not have been much, and also late at that, but she couldn't allow someone to think they had to spend such a day by themselves. With his height, Nanami stood out among everyone else, and that is when Mitsuri made her move. "Nanami-saaaan!" Running as fast as she could, she stopped just abruptly in front of him and held out her gifts, politely bowing her head. "Spend the day with me! It is no good to be alone!"
AH, FINALLY SOME PEACE and quiet. After being bombarded earlier that day with birthday wishes and surprises, he was glad to finally be able to wind down and just take in the relative quiet around him – or as quiet as it could be in the constant rhythm that was Tokyo, of course. Taking a deep breath, he removed his suit jacket, neatly placing it to the side and rolling up his sleeves to help alleviate some of the stifling summer heat that had nearly cooked him as he went about his business. It was rude to walk about looking so casual, but surely no one would side eye him for wanting a breather. Leaning against a railway, he closed his eyes, allowing the wind to lick at his skin and ruffle his hair…right before he heard someone call his name. Frowning, he turned, brows furrowing slightly in confusion. Who was this? Someone he met before…? She certainly didn’t seem the least bit familiar to him.
❝Hm…do I know you?❞ Even so, he did reach out to take that offered gift…even if…he had no idea what was going on right about now. Was this a prank? Was he going to pop up on television later? Nanami looked around as if attempting to catch camera crew hiding somewhere off in the distance around a corner or behind a tree, only to be met with nothing but normal passersby. Maybe this was Gojo’s sense of humor or…something. ❝Did a man with a blindfold and white hair tell you to come over here?❞ He had to rule out all possibilities because all of those made ten times more sense than a stranger wanting to spend their day with you because they didn’t want you to be alone of all things.
