Cora felt so alone in this place. She knew that she deserved to be here and that she had done wrong even if she could not fully control her actions. It was just hard to relate to the other woman when they all had a reason to go on, a reason to get out. Cora just wanted to give up, to lie in her bed all day and not do these pointless work tasks that make her time here so much worse.
Fitting in anywhere was always hard for her. She was complicated and hard to love, Cora knew this but she had always hoped that someone would understand her, the way her sisters had before they died. Hope was pointless for Cora however as she would always be alone and trapped. This is what was going through her head when she had slipped away during lunch, not feeling up to eating much anyway, and hid herself in the library. Cora tried not to feel sorry for herself but she was the only one who could and so the tears continued to fall from her face in her moments alone.
A noise coming from the library door startled Cora into reality and as she rubbed away tears, Cora peaked out from behind the shelf she was sitting against to see what it was, “Who is there?”
