So Ludum Dare is here... Not a big fan of the theme... “Combine 2 Incompatible Genres”. After a while of deliberation with Kristina, we decided on combining Vikings and Sci-fi.
We’ll have vikings fighting robot-cyborg-sci-fi-alien-monster thingies.
Today I managed to make the viking model, rig it and make some basic animations. Got a simple idle, a walk, a hurt, a death and an attack.
Meanwhile Kristina started planning out the map using the Terrain Tool, painting different colors to plan the path the player will take.
She also started placing some proxy objects for hte trees and enemies, so once the assets are done we can simply replace the prefabs.
I implemented a quick character controller and the animations I did earlier.
Tomorrow I gotta do the enemy and implement most of the gameplay so I can just polish on the last day.
