Hello everyone! As you have most likely noticed, we have been a bit absent lately, working behind the scenes and off of the dash. As promised, we have been putting all of our time and energy into completing the project we started, and as of today, we can officially declare that we have turned over a new leaf, and we could not be happier.
If you look around, you will see that nearly everything has been changed. The main blog as well as the gossip blog have undergone complete makeovers, nearly all of the pages have been scrubbed down and given new themes, including the navigation and the blogroll. We have shortened the rules, rewritten the application, made a fresh batch of icons and headers, redone the character masterlist, updated the wanted list and made new graphics. We sincerely hope that you like the changes we made and that you are as excited as we are about the future and the things that we have in store for you!
And on that note, we will be resuming activity checks this Sunday so take this as a fair warning that we expect everyone to have a two hundred word para posted by then to stay off the list. Along with that, we also have an event in the works to get things moving again, and the next question of the week will be posted on the following Monday. We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for staying with us throughout this revamp, for being loyal, patient members and for trusting us and believing in us. We are dedicated to not only this group but each and every one of you as well, and we are so glad that we could finally post some good news. The future is bright!
Over the past couple of months we have worked hard at trying to get the activity in our group up and going again and we have tried everything short of something that may sound very drastic to some of you. But hey, drastic times call for drastic measures, right? This group might not be around much longer if we don’t try something new. The Administrator team has talked it over and we have considered the possibility of shutting down the group for a short amount of time, maybe a week or so, in order to change a few things around and to reboot it. However, before we do this, we wanted to ask everyone’s opinion on this matter because it not only affects us but everyone in the group is well.
What might be included in the reboot? A new theme, updated rules, new graphics, a new format/way of doing things. Again, I think that it is safe to say that all three of us on the Admin team have tried everything including getting even more ads out there on our group’s ads blog and yet there are no apps being sent in. The group needs to be updated and reformed. Celebrity London is one of the longest running celebrity roleplay groups on tumblr and it has some loyal roleplayers and we want to be able to give you guys a good experience here, but since it has been going for so long, nothing has changed and it needs to adapt more to how things are now instead of the way that they were before.
What will change for you guys if we do shut down the group? Not a lot. You can keep your characters and your storylines the way that you have them right now. You can continue on roleplaying while we’re down or you can even have the choice to start over, but only if you want to do so. The only difference there will be is with the Main blog. We won’t be posting any questions of the week, activity checks or anything like that (until we open it again) so that all of our attention can be focused on getting the blog fixed, updated and functional again.
You guys do have a choice in the matter, your voice matters, this is your group so we feel that it is only fair that you have a say in all of this. You can discuss it in the OOC if you would like to voice your opinion or you could message us, either way we would like to hear from you.
Valentine’s Day Event: Lonely Hearts Club Charity Night
Forget days old roses, pricy chocolate boxes or overcrowded restaurants on February 14th. Let the High Profile population of Celebrity London celebrate love in the best way possible: while having fun and volunteering their time and money, by giving back. In collaboration with the Make A Wish foundation, we are urging you all to attend what promises to be a fantastic night at our Lonely Hearts Club -whether you’re single or happily taken, everyone will enjoy.
The food and fountain drinks are free, as well as attendance, but there is a catch, because it is a fundraiser. Everyone who wants in on the guest list has to register to mann a booth or special activity. Don’t worry, you get shifts, so you can go off and enjoy the party yourself, but it’s mostly about giving back. Be it the Lovebird Tank Tank, the Kissing Booth, the Blind Dates, Cinnamon and Candy hearts concession stand or some idea of your own, it is still guaranteed you will have the night of your life!
To attend, please send in the form below to the main blog:

Booths and activities
Kissing Booth: A classic amongst all classics. Celebrities who offer their services will be on half hour shifts rotation, at the booth, to give kisses to whoever comes in and pay. Breath mints, gum, hand sanitizer and chapstick will be offered. [£1 for a kiss on the cheek £5 for a kiss on the lips]
Sara Bareilles
Name
Cupid Gigolo: Celebrities that offer will be spending half hour shifts dressed up like Cupid, giving out hugs and posing however they are told to in their pictures. Who doesn’t enjoy a celebrity looking ridiculous once in awhile? [£1 for a hug £5 for a picture £10 for five pictures]
Avan Jogia
Adele Karaoke: Who is better than the queen of heartbreaking songs to be the main source or musical entertainments for the Lonely Hearts Club? Throughout the event, we will be alternating between a regular DJ, and performances by anyone in attendance who pays to climb up on stage to belt out the soulful singer’s biggest hits -with or without her help-. [£5 to sing on their own, £20 to sing a duet with Adele]
Adele
Lovebird Tank Tank: Special booth. Only coupled up people can volunteer. Because it is the Lonely Hearts Club, there are a lot of single people out there out to get the lovey-dovey couples. We offer them an occasion to get their feelings out by attempting to dunk volunteering couples into a tank full of water by aiming at a target with a ball. Fresh and warm towels are offered to the participating couples, but they must bring their own bathing suits. [£2 a try £10 for 10 tries £30 for a direct tanking]

Dear Carrie: For the special event, the Princess of Alderaan herself will offer love and relationship advice about everything you might ask. She was hit on by a Kennedy, married then divorced then dated one half of Simon and Garfunkel, got left for another man, woke up with a dead friend in her bed... trust us, she has answers for you. Who doesn’t need to be reminded once in a while to “not go through the crew like wildfire”. [£10 for one question £20 for three]
Carrie Fisher
Speed dates: The concept is easy. Rows of tables are set, people sit, they have 3 minutes to talk and get to know each other before the buzzer sounds and one row moves down a table. The trick here is... you can enter someone against their will. It’s for charity, they will look like assholes if they refuse. How fun is that? [£10 to enter yourself £20 to enter someone else against their will]

Baking competition: Cookies, cakes, brownies and desserts of all kinds are welcome to line the tables, the judges will go through and taste every last treat. First, second and third place winners get a ribbon and a free dessert coupon for Dessert Island. [£10 per each dessert you enter]

Concessions: While entrées and finger food will be served throughout the event, you can buy chocolates, message heart candies and various other sweet things at the concession booth. People volunteering will get hour long shifts. [Price varies depending on what people buy]
It has been snowing in London for a couple of days now, causing all of the fallen snow to accumulate and for all of the roads and businesses to start to shutting down. Power outages are becoming widespread in the area and the Government officials are advising everyone to stay indoors and stay warm. Don’t leave your homes unless you absolutely have too.
Things to take into consideration
Did your character watch the news enough to know that a BIG snow storm was on its way?
How prepared were they? Do they have enough food and water to last them for a few days?
Were they out and about when the snow started to fall? Or were they at home? Or might they even have to stay over at a friend’s house until it’s all over?
What will they do to fight the boredom?
Or will they be stubborn and try to go out and brave the storm?
Objectives
If you chose to take part in this event (it is not mandatory, although we would love to see you take part in it!) please either write a solo para, an open para, or chose someone from the group that you would like to write with. This event is to help encourage and spark newer ideas to write about if you are currently struggling to come up with new ideas for a para or if you’re also struggling to keep your activity levels up (we are doing activity checks again this week). If you’re not sure who you would like to write with, please let us know and we will try to pair you up with someone at random.
Testing, testing, one, two, three -- it’s Ali here, and it’s safe to say I’m a little bit late to the party, but that doesn’t mean I am any less excited to be here! After being a member for two summers now and thinking of this place as my home on the internet and a safe haven, it’s crazy to say that I’m going to be a part of the behind the scenes process. It is always sad to see someone leave and I can say from the bottom of my heart that we will miss Brittany dearly, but I will do everything I can to help my fellow admins keep this thing running smoothly for us all. I love the safe, fun environment that we have here and I promise you that we will put all of our effort into keeping it that way.
I really have no idea what else to say and I know that I cannot match Jester's brilliant introduction post because I’m terrible with words -- ironic, coming from a writer -- but I will be around if anyone wants to get to know me better, you are always free to message me on any of my character’s blogs if you’re not sure if anyone is on the main or you just want to talk. I hope you never feel afraid to come to me, because I won't hurt a fly. (Literally, I refuse to kill bugs, no matter how annoying they get.) I can genuinely say that I love each and every one of the members here and we, as a team, always have your best interests at heart, just know that going in because that will not change. In addition, when you happen to see the gorgeous face of Kristen Stewart on the main, that will be me, as I have chosen her to be my mascot.
I also want to say before I stop boring you all with my speech, thank you so much, Anne, for allowing me to be a part of this. I hope I don’t disappoint! Now, back to your regularly scheduled programming...
Hey guys, admin Jester here! I’m excited to be a part of the admin team for this amazing group. It is both the first and the only celebrity rpg that I have ever joined, and to be honest, I can’t see myself being a part of another one. I know that everything seems to have slowed down a little bit lately, but with the help of the other two mods; I am confident that we can get this place up and going again very soon.
I also just wanted to say that I love this group and the little online family that we have going here, and I’m sad that Brittany had to leave our group, but I do hope that we will be seeing her again in the near future. We will miss you!
The Projects Blog is definitely one of the very first things that I will be working on and I will be redoing all of it in order to make it more organized and more customizable for different types of projects. The end goal for this blog is for it to be used it in a way that will get more interactions between everyone in the group.
Now to introduce my mascot, his name is David Morrissey (but I think that a few of you saw that one coming). Many of you will know him as the Governor from The Walking Dead, but he’s really quite friendly in real life. <3
Ladies and gentlemen this is it the moment you hav all been waiting for. PLEASE GIVE A WARM CELEBRITY LONDON WELCOME TO YOUR TWO NEW MODS, THE LOVELY JESTER AND ALI! I will let them both make an introductory post but in the meantime, congratulations you two :D
Tomorrow is the beginning of the new Celebrity London Era. I will announce who the new mods will be, but will also update the taken list/activity checks.
Which bring me to my point: as you guys were not given any warning about that specific activity check it would be unfair to force people to post something on such short notice, but I also want to know who to keep around or not, so here is how it will work: if you want to stay, whether you have posted in the past weeks or not, all you have to do is like this post. Active or not, liking this post will guarantee you’re staying on. But from tomorrow until the end of time, the usual activity rules are coming back in full effect.
