films i saw in 2026: Ready Or Not: Here I Come

SCORE: 7/10 GENRE: Horror/Comedy DIRECTORS: Radio Silence

I mean, I liked it? It's a fun experience, the emotional core is strong and something I kinda related to and it's still the bloody joyride the first film was.

But, I don't know... maybe it's because I saw They Will Kill You almost immediately after, maybe it got overshadowed by the fact that I took one of the single biggest steps I've made in my life under an hour after leaving the cinema, maybe the original was just that good, maybe I wanted more out of the political satire (ok it's probably the political satire thing). I'm kinda underwhelmed by this film regardless of its positives.

I just rewatched the movie 'Ready or Not' with my partner and I think I figured something out!

I honestly believe that if Grace hadn't wanted a divorce from Alex that he would have survived the game. The reason being a small section where the La Domas family talk about married couples who don't play the games on their wedding night. The father - Tony explains that both the husband and the wife die the next morning. So with this in mind it would be logical to believe that the winning pair would survive. But since Grace wanted a divorce Alex was automatically on the losing side, making Grace a widow and the LAST La Domas family member!
