Horace SCANNED the vast GARDENS outside the house, watching an EMPTY suit of clothes without a BODY pass by him, which he later REALIZED was an INVISIBLE person. He then STARED at the GIGANTIC house, TALL and LOOMING over them. Perhaps it was even LARGER than his OLD mansion. He WHIRLED around to look at his ESCORT, the STRANGE girl in the LEADEN shoes. He’d never felt so ALIEN to a place, and yet he felt . . . at HOME, with people who were LIKE him.

15. Fixing shirt collar

He was an organized boy. Everything had it’s place in his room, and had to be to his standards. So when he glanced up at Olive and saw her shirt collar was off, he knew it wouldn’t stick with him. Perhaps he had a mild case of OCD, or he was just a bit of a neat freak. Either way, the urge to fix it just grew stronger.

Putting the tools in his hands down, Enoch stood and moved around his work bench so he was standing in front of her. In a somewhat comfortable silence, he brought his hands up and turned the side of the propped up collar down. His fingers lightly brushed against the back of her neck as he checked to see if the collar stood up at the back as well. 

When he was satisfied, he gave her shoulders a small pat, before he went and sat back down. “Pass me the scalpel please Olive.” He requested, as if nothing had happened.
