A Poorly Planned Trip || Archie and Courtney
The sun was blinding and the taste of salt water was thick in the air. People were bustling about around her and vague orders being shouted by sailors and cargo workers could be heard. Ahead loomed the expansive city of Castelia, and within it figures can be seen moving about like ants.
Courtney felt both excited and nervous at the same time. This was her first time outside of the Hoenn region, where only a handful of cities were even a fraction of how large Castelia is. The sight was breathtaking; so much so that Courtney stopped halfway through getting off the small ship that took her there which visibly annoyed those behind her.
She decided that the first thing that she was going to do would be to go to the Pokemon Center and plan out what her next step should be. She was so focused on her goal—the one and only reason why she even came to the Unova region—that she had forgotten to plot what to do once she actually got to Unova.
The Pokemon Center wasn't too hard for Courtney to find. It could actually be seen from the pier that her boat docked at. Once she was inside it, she immediately felt alienated. These Pokemon Centers were much different than those back in Hoenn. There was a lounging area to the left which was larger than those back at home, there was a balcony above the reception desk which overlooked the rest of the Center, and (the most surprising of all) there was a PokeMart inside of the Center!
Feeling a bit lost, Courtney looked for a seat in the corner of the Center. She was appreciative of the fact that she did not have to wear her Team Magma uniform when not working; she would have stuck out like a sore thumb. After sitting down and relaxing a bit, she took out a map of the Unova region from her bag. She laid it out in front of her and tried to flatten the creases, but to no apparent avail. There seemed to be much more land than she remembered, which meant more places to have to look for it. Realizing that she could not do this alone, she sighed and looked around the lounge area for someone who may be able to help her.
Unfortunately, there was only one other person in the lounge area other than her. Weighing her odds, she swallowed her fear and approached the person.
"E-excuse me?" Courtney asked, hoping that she didn't sound quite as nervous as she felt.
