Bryndyfi lead mine - sometimes when the only sounds you hear are bleating sheep & buzzards crying overhead, its easy to forget that this picturesque landscape was once a hive of industry. Man has been delving into these hills since the Bronze Age in search of metallic ores. Beneath your feet the hills are riddled with historic burrowings and above ground the traces of tramways, leats, reservoirs and often spectacular ruins are all that remain.
