Liverpool: We don't get to stop here that often, but I like this city, the eyebrows are a little scary, I'm a little too pale to fit in, but it's cool. Crosby beach is wonderful, walk a little way to the right of the beach and settle on a bench(maybe pack a cheeky aperitif) and watch the people cycle, walk, run past(www.visitliverpool.com) best coffee and tea to be had at 'LEAF' on bold street, although I found a tiny spring in my humous, it was very clean though and they were very nice, We got a shmogers board of free cake and coffee post lunch(www.thisisleaf.co.uk) . For the best vegetarian fodder, with great views is at 'The Egg Cafe'(www.eggcafe.co.uk – I must admit I'm not a huge fan of the name, but its a wonderful top floor eatery, with a super menu and great chilled out vibe).
I managed a great yoga class at 'Liverpool Yoga Studios'(www.liverpoolyogastudios.co.uk) with a avocado-licious breakfast at 'The Dale Street Eatery'(www.delkery.co.uk). If The sun makes an appearance head to St.James Park, the warm rays heat the lavender bushes while you lie back on the grass or read a good book on one of the many park benches. If the park bothers you or you have a fear of Bees head to the water front, where their always seems to be an event on over the Summer or take shelter in the Tate(www.tate.org.uk) If that doesn't appeal; hop on the ferry across the Mersey(la la la insert song here), I didn't do the ferry part, I spend my life on a boat so this doesn't really appeal to me on a day off. If you are an Art fan there is a lot to please the eye and soul in Liverpool, I love The Walker Art Gallery, completely free to enter and you can wander about at your leisure taking in some wonderful paintings(www.liverpoolmuseums.org.uk).
If you need a retail hit there is amazing shopping spread across the city from huge department stores in the centre to quirky vintage on Bold Street, I'm not a huge shopping fan, but whenever I needed an item or two I could always find what I needed.
