i've been super into reading a lot of mxtx fics (specifically tgcf (hualian) and svsss (moshang)) and I LOVE what people have been cooking up but i also want to write my own. i'm feeling kinda intimidated by the setting though for some reason? idk why but I feel like i'm a danmei noob (only been reading for like a year and still pretty early into the # of novels i've read in the genre in general) so i feel like i don't have 1000% grasp of maybe some of the tropes. also weirdly concerned about """getting it wrong"""

has anyone else struggled with feeling like this? any other danmei fic writers have any advice for someone who wants to start writing in the fandom... or people who have started writing in a genre unfamiliar to them

I don’t know how to tell people this, but no one player or guild owns any locations inside World of Warcraft. This is an MMO. There are millions of players world wide, and approximately 176,000 active accounts on Wyrmrest Accord alone. There are limited spaces in the game that are not filled with hostile mobs and fit certain aesthetics that players might want to use for RP. We need, as a community, to pull our heads out of our asses and learn how to share.

You know, it’s weird, seeing all these billionaires throw around money like it’s nothing to go to space, or buy Twitter, or whatever. I just think differently, I guess, because the first thing I think about doing with money, aside from helping out family, is fixing up the little town I live in. Like, giving money to the businesses on Main Street so they can fix the broken windows that are still there from the last hail storm, or opening up a bowling alley or arcade, so the kids around here have something to do other than meth. I wouldn’t even care if the businesses I started lost money, so long as the people in my town could benefit from them. And what an ego boost it would be to be a hero to people because of the good you did! You would think the PR alone would be enough for these egotistical rich people to want to make a difference. I don’t know...
