DinApril Day 22: A dinosaur from a place close to where you(r mother) live(s).
Welcome to DinApril 2025, where instead of recycling my list from last year, I made my mom come up with the dinosaurs! Our twenty-second day features a dinosaur from a place close to where my mother lives: Dryptosaurus aquilunguis! These two males are fighting each other, in so doing making an homage to Charles R. Knight's famous painting Leaping Laelaps.
I think it's obligatory for every paleoartist to do at least one Leaping Laelaps homage in their lifetime. And yes, I did use the mount in the New Jersey State Museum as a reference!
Coloration inspired by the Beasts of the Mesozoic Dryptosaurus from 2024.
Dryptosaurus suffers bad internet connection.

The dinosaur depicted is the Dryptosaurus. It became well known at the time because of this painting. It's not one of the more well known dinosaurs these days though.
