Please, OP, point to me where Nesta and Azriel even have a conversation that isn't about training or court business. Book and chapter please and thank you.
Meanwhile, he and Feyre made a game out of predicting which Rita's patrons will try and bed Rhys. Azriel volunteers to teach Feyre how to fly despite the bad memories it brings up because he knows he's the best one to do it.
Also, you do know that Azriel was there for a good chunk of what "they did to Nesta," right? He knows that Nesta was not in the House of Wind willingly. He knows she doesn't want to train at first. He knows that Nesta is being sent after the Trove and that she only does so to 'protect' Elain.
And that's just what he's physically there for. It's canon that Azriel keeps an eye on the other members of the Inner Circle, or at the very least Amren (ACoMaF, chapter 28). We know he has spies in other Courts (ACoMaF, chapter 45) and other countries (ACoMaF, chapter 32). It's also canon that Rhys basically lets him do what he wants as long as that's done to protect the court (ACoMaF, chapter 28).
Nesta is perceived as a potential threat, sometimes jokingly (ACoWaR, chapter 16) sometimes not so much (ACoSF, chapter 21). In what world would he not have at least a shadow if not a spy on her??
Me when I'm tactfully trying to leave a conversation
