Now that obedience is more of a focus for us, I’ve been training a variety of exercises whether we’ll really need them for competition or not. Such as the stand in motion, plus the mondioring exercises (we’re finally working on the sendout!). It gives us more variety, helps with generalizing and solidifying behaviors overall, and it’s good for me to have the training experience. If I ever do decide to go on to competitions with Chandra, Blizzard, or a future dog, I’ll have a better grasp on how to train the behaviors and work through issues.

That’s why it’s good to train things with the dog you have! I think sometimes we get caught up in waiting for Next Dog, or “I’ll learn X sport when I get a dog for it”. Learn what you can with the dog you have now!!

If you haven't seen it watch it. It is an interesting documentary about the history of how people shopped and how Selfridges changed the world of shopping and how stores were run. And before you think that sounds boring, it really isn't. It has had a huge impact on our culture.
