Sometimes I forget that some people aren't kinky, like, at all, an example of this is a conversation I had today:

friend, gossiping about some couple: yeah, I heard they're really freaky too

me, half-listening and in the middle of eating: mhmm, how so

friend: Well, one of them likes getting choked and-

me, thinking she was joking bc to me it's normal: No, fr, what?

friend, now staring at me with a scandalized expression: you have problems, dude

The thing I learned after interacting with stuff online (eg. commenting, liking) is that doing so is actually not as scary as one would have imagined.

Back then, I genuinely was afraid of commenting and interacting with things online because I wasn’t confident in my English, and that I wouldn’t be able to convey my sincerity across through text. I kinda drifted away from the internet for a few years because of that.

But after deciding to post a fic on AO3 for the first time, I realized that, hey, the internet is actually pretty chill. And maybe I should engage in something to show my appreciation if i really liked it, because people who are making these content wouldn’t judge you if you left a comment on their work, and instead are happy to receive a comment (even if the comment is poorly written).

So, um, if you suddenly saw a bunch of basic comments on fics from me, sorry about that. I really want to show how much I liked it, I just feel like I suck at conveying it. And I’m doing my best to be more of a participating member of the community after barely interacting for so long. I’ll work on my commenting and socialization skills, I swear.
