Reposting the last painting I did....kinda?

This is what happens when you haven't painted digitally in a while,lose the references you wanted to use for the original painting, and then find them again after you've posted 🤡

I didn't want to repaint the entire thing after so many people had liked it though😅 (And I've got too many ideas to draw/paint!)

NEAT THINGS: We had a lab that was scheduled to be completed over two lab periods. Last week took all 4 hours and went really poorly and my data was horribly imprecise. My results had a ppt of like, 24, when you wanna aim for <5ppt.

This week? Finished the second portion with a 1.0 ppt (!!!) and then had enough time to re-do the portion from last week. and I still got out of lab an hour early.

My Psychology of lifespan development textbook has some interesting things to say about gender. “Parents in the united states tend to think baby boys and girls are more different then they actually are. For example, despite identical performance, mothers of eleven month old infants expect sons to crawl more effectively than daughters. U.S. parents begin to influence boys’ and girls’ personalities very early. Fathers, especially, promote “gender typing” the process by which children learn behavior that their culture considers appropriate for each sex.” ( experience human development 13e, Papalia, 2015) so  basically we’re being set up from infant-hood it’s a trap I REPEAT IT’S a MOTHERFLUFFING TRAP!

we did an awesome free tour throughout bratislava today & got to see & learn about so many things (i'm a little biased but the blue church was probably my favorite). bratislava is known as a coronation city so there are little tiny crowns along the way the kings & queens walked before and after being crowned. we also learned some interesting traditions here in slovakia: they eat fish for dinner on christmas eve and store it in their bathtub--alive!--a few days before!

I have an aussie schooling jazz on the differences between the two countries. It's beautiful. Thank you lime for teaching me and keeping me educated so I don't sound like this blabbering fool. <3 It really makes me happy.

I'm learning about America's politics in college and my textbook actually told me there are 5 important functions of laws and one of them is to reflect and enforce conformity to society's values.... All I started thinking was fuck you I don't conform to society

I'm not looking to offend your father-in-law and friends, but making Yule a Pagan holiday is somewhat disrespectful to Scandinavians. We celebrate it as a largely secular event, a reaffirmation of family and friendship ties, and neither Christianity nor Asatru has much to do with it here - even the sizeable Muslim population in my country celebrates Yule. It's about good food and gifts and lights to combat the onset of winter depression when it's dark 18 hours a day, and everyone is invited. :)

Oh wow, I was unaware!  Thank you for teaching me, Cyan!  I hadn’t realized that the celebration of Yule as a winter solstice holiday by pagans was something of an appropriation.

And I can’t see where that would be offensive, as I’m willing to bet many of those I’ve met who do celebrate Yule in such a way aren’t even aware that it’s still very much a practiced and cultural thing in Scandinavia.

I hope my holiday navel-gazing didn’t cause any offense to you, Cyan.  Or for any of my Scandinavian friends and followers.  <3
