During a sea turtle nest inventory in 2015, one live hatchling was found and then released to the ocean. As far as I know, this is the only Leatherback hatchling ever photographed on Hunting Island.
So, I help out with an envoirnmental group
It is a turtle conservation project that mainly deals with the Olive Riddley.
This year we had at least three Leatherback nests - possibly even five.
The first nest hatched.
And this is what I woke up to.

The nest had a 100% success rate.
