For fellow #leathersmiths #leatherworkers that like to line their projects with fabric and haven’t found a good glue/contact cement I’ve found that #tandyleather #ecoweld is pretty good. I used to use #bargecement because it has superior hold however it is not forgiving of mistakes. Using this has helped me move faster and make cleaner liners. I frequently get people who look at my items and get sticker shock, “Why is it so expensive?” Here is an example of mass produced, inexpensive “leather” purse. As you can see there is only a super thin layer of leather. Sandwiched in between is some gray stuff and a mesh. Beware of #genuineleather as well. That term just means there is some leather in it. It does not last very long. I, and many other #leathersmiths use full grain leather. Full grain leather is the original hide of the animal with the hair removed. This is the type of leather you want if you want your #leathergood to last decades. I was asked to “repair” these. 8 days until Vindaloofest!

The lineup is actually still expanding, we'll get the Leathersmiths instead of Whiskey Maggie, and D.Vocal and Donnell Woods have come on board.

This festival celebrates one year of Yawning Rabbit being around, whilst also playing birthday party to Sandeep and Anita of YRP as well, turning 27 and 23 respectively.

The show is free to enter, held in Donatos Basement on High. 4/19 from 5pm-1am.
