this he contrasts to the "vulgar" or "common" definition of body as "only such parts thereof as they can discern by the sense of Feeling, to resist their force, or by the sense of their Eyes, to hinder them from a farther prospect," leading them in Hobbes's view to the "absurdities" of believe in things like "incorporeal substances", ghosts, etc. (XXXIV.3).
