Kara and five-year-old Alura taking a nap next to each other
Sunday's are Kara's favourite days. On Sunday's, she's free from work (sort of), she's free from Supergirl. Most of the time anyways. She had made Alex promise that if Supergirl was needed, it would have to be life or death. And so far, her Sunday's were free of fighting bad guys.
She spent all her time on Sunday's with Alura. Whether they were out of the house doing something, or staying in and playing together. She doesn't take them for granted and makes sure that Alura would have the best days on Sundays.
“So, what do you want to do today?” Kara asked as they cleaned their breakfast dishes. Alura pondered over the question as she put the milk back in the fridge.
“Can we stay in and watch movies?” Alura asked, giving Kara her best puppy eyes.
“You know, Winn needs to stop teaching you things like this,” Kara mused, and laughed when Alura started pouting. “But yes we can do that. I'll finish up here and you get the living room.”
Alura beamed and raced to get all the pillows and blankets she could find. As Alura built the fort, Kara finished cleaning and started getting their snacks ready.
They spent the morning watching movies, and ordered pizza for lunch. They had just started The Little Mermaid, when Kara felt a head rest on her lap. Looking down, she saw Alura drifting off. With a smile, Kara wrapped her arms around her and snuggled into the pillows. Happy that she and Alura were comfortable, Kara felt herself drifting off too.
That's how they spent the rest of the day. Sleeping in the living room as the movie played. Both Kara and Alura were okay with it.

Brainy being there in the leaving AU to celebrate Alura’s sixth birthday
“When are we going to the park?” Alura asked, bounding into the kitchen. Kara had spent the entire morning decorating Alura’s cake, as Querl sat there and watched.
Kara looked at the time before answering Alura. “Soon. Aunt Alex wanted to go to the park together.”
“She’s bringing Jeremy?” Alura asked, climbing on the chair next to Querl.
“Yes she is,” Querl answered, “I don’t think she’d leave your cousin at home today.” Alura beamed, melting Querl’s heart. He’ll never get tired of seeing his daughter smile like that.
Just as Kara finished icing the cake, the door opened allowing Jeremy to run through. “Hey! Slow down there buddy.”
“Sworry Mommy,” Jeremy said, slowing to a stop. Alura hopped off the chair and ran over.
“Are we going to the park now?” she asked, as Jeremy grabbed a hold of her hand. Alex hummed and watched as the two’s faces lit up. Alura turned to Kara, bouncing on her feet. “Are you coming?”
Kara shared a look with Querl and nodded. “Why don’t you go with Aunt Alex? I have to put the cake in a box so it doesn’t get ruined.”
“Okay Mommy!” Alura briefly let go of Jeremy’s hand and ran over to hug Querl and Kara before leaving with Alex and Jeremy.
“She really loves her birthday,” Querl noted, getting off the chair to help.
“She didn’t always. Every year she hoped that you would come but was always disappointed,” Kara said, missing Querl’s shoulders drop in guilt. “But she would always say, maybe next year. And now you’re here and her birthday wish came true.”
“I’m sorry,” was the only thing Querl could say.
“Don’t be. Now come on, let’s go before Barry decides it’s a good idea to take them running to L.A or something.” Querl raised an eyebrow and Kara shook her head. “I’ll tell you another time.”
With that, the two grabbed the presents and the cake and made their way to the park. Where they were met with the kids running around the playground as the parents ran.
Throughout the day, Querl found himself having fun. Whether it was just watching Alura playing with her cousins. Pretending to be the bad guy with Oliver and Barry as Alura, Nora, Mia and Jonathan try to stop them.
He found himself laughing as he watched the kids tackle Winn for something he had said.
When it was time for cake, Querl found himself promising to be the best dad Alura would ask for as she blew out the candles.
“Did you have fun today?” Kara asked, as the three made their way home.
“Oh yes! This is the best birthday ever!” Alura exclaimed. She turned around and gave Querl a hug. In turn, he picked her up and hugged her as tight as he let him. “Thanks, Daddy. You made today the best.”
Querl kissed her head. “I’ll make next year's birthday just as special,” he said. Alura looked up at him with hope.
And this concludes 17 days of Supergirl. (Even though I missed a few days but we don’t talk about it) Honestly, I didn’t think I’d finish them all when I stated I wanted to do it. But here we are, and now I’m on to my next WIP project, whichever that is.
Anyways, I hoped you all enjoyed them and thank you.
Also, I started writing this months ago because I personally needed Oliver and Barry to play with Alura.
---
“Uncle Ollie!” Alura shouted as she ran towards him. He readied himself and caught Alura as she flung herself into his arms. “I missed you!”
“I miss you too, Princess,” he replied as he spun her around, making her giggle. “So, what do you want to do today?” Oliver asked, after setting Alura down.
Alura thought for a moment before an idea came to mind. “Wait right here,” she instructed before racing off towards Kara, who was helping Felicity set up the food. “Mommy?”
Kara stopped and turned to see Alura give her puppy eyes. Felicity choked down a laugh as she watched. “Yes, bug?”
“Can Uncle Ollie teach me how to shoot an arrow?” Alura asked and Felicity didn’t bother hiding her laugh. Kara sighed, knowing this question was bound to come up at the picnic.
Alura had been asking Kara if she could take up archery. And imagining her five year old with a bow and arrow, Kara had to say no. But she knew Oliver wouldn’t let anything go wrong and Alura really seemed interested in it.
“Okay,” Kara caved, “but you have to be careful and He has to say yes.” Alura cheered, gave her mom a hug before running off again.
Skidding to a stop in front of Oliver, Alura gave him her best puppy eyes. Oliver knew he was in trouble. “Yes Alura?”
“Can you teach me how to shoot an arrow?” Alura asked. Oliver widened his eyes in surprise and looked up to see Kara smile.
“You’re on your own,” she mouthed. Oliver hummed turning back to Alura.
“I don’t know, your mom might not like it,” Oliver countered.
“That’s okay, she already said yes. Just as long as we’re careful,” Alura replied with a smile.
Curious to see what her dad and cousin were talking about, Mia skipped towards them. “Whatcha doing?”
“Your dad is going to teach me how to shoot an arrow,” Alura replied. Mia’s face lit up and turned to Oliver.
“Can you teach me how too?”
“I never, uh, you.” Pinching the bridge of his nose, Oliver bowed his head in defeat. Who knew a five and a six year old could defeat the Green Arrow? “Alright fine.”
Mia and Alura high fives each other and waited for Oliver to start.
“You know, you’re lucky I brought nurf toys. They’re a lot safer then the real things. Especially if it’s you too,” he said, pointing at them. All they did was smile innocently. “Okay, stay here and I’ll go get them.”
Ten minutes later, Oliver was teaching Alura and Mia how to hold the bow properly. Their main target was leaning against a tree. And as expected from children, they didn’t hit it at all. That didn’t discourage the two, they were having fun, and that’s all that mattered to them.
Kara smiled as she watched the three. it was a sight, but she was glad Alura was having fun.
“It must be nice having someone Alura can look up too like that.”
“Yeah, I’m glad she has Oliver in her life. I know I can get too much for her, and knowing you guys are around it really helps,” Kara replied.
“It’s not just Oliver who’s Alura’s life,” Felicity added and pointed at Barry and Iris as they walked towards them.
Barry said a quick hello to the two of them and dashed off towards Oliver with Nora behind him.
“Hey girls, I brought some Flash stuff so we can play that instead,” Barry insisted. Oliver chuckled and helped Nora with her bow the minute she picked it up.
Alura shook her head and shot the arrow. It landed a few feet away from her. “No, I rather play with this.”
“But the Flash is so much cooler.”
“Nah uh, the Green Arrow is,” Mia stated to which Alura and Nora agreed. Barry’s shoulders sagged as Oliver continued laughing.
“Face it Barry, they like Green Arrow better then the Flash,” Oliver said.
“Well, if you can’t change their minds, I might as well tickle them,” Barry said as an afterthought. As soon as the word tickle was uttered, the three girls dropped their bows and quickly ran off. Barry and Oliver wasted no time running after them.
Kara watched as the five of them played. Oliver and Barry held a special place in Alura’s heart, she knew. And she’d do anything to keep them there.
Leaving AU, after Brainy comes back, he notices/appreciates when Kara starts showing
Sometimes Querl thinks everything here is a dream. There are days where he'll lay awake convincing him that this is a dream and he's back home in the 31st century. But then Kara would turn over and accidentally hit him, and he knows this is real. And with Kara’s second pregnancy, it still feels like a dream.
“What’s with the far off look?” Kara asked, shaking him out of his thoughts. He moved over, and waited until Kara sat down before answering.
“That you’re beautiful,” he said, smiling as Kara blushed. She pushed him slightly causing him to laugh. “I’m serious. You were beautiful before you started showing, and you're still beautiful.”
“Daddy’s right,” Alura chimed in as she skipped towards them.
“Well thank you,” Kara said, with a smile. “Maybe it’s because of the baby bump that just started growing.”
“Maybe. Or maybe it’s just you,” Querl said, giving her a kiss on the cheek.
The next day, Kara received a bouquet of flowers at work.
“Ooh, look at you getting flowers,” Nia teased as she looked them over. “Who’s the special someone?”
“You ask that like you don’t even know,” Kara said, poking her tongue out at her. She looked down to see a card sitting on top of the flowers. Taking it, she opened it just as Nia peered down to read it.
To the prettiest flower I know. It read and Kara couldn’t help but smile.
“Wow, either he’s trying to make up for the lost time he’s missed or he really loves you,” Nia mused.
“I think he loves me,” Kara answered. “He doesn’t have to go all out though if it’s because of the last five years.”
“It’s Brainy, anything’s possible.” Kara hummed and went back to the flowers.
That night, she was surprised again with dinner. “Okay Querl what’s all this?”
“I want to make sure you’re comfortable,” he answered.
“Nah, he loves you so much he wants to show you,” Alura corrected. Alura started running as Querl began to chase her around the room.
“You’re funny,” he said when he finally caught her. “But you’re also right. I do love mommy and I want to make sure she knows that.”
“I think I do, but thank you Querl it means a lot.”
“Good, because I don’t think I’ll stop showing you how much I love you.”
“And I wouldn’t have it any other way,” Kara said, and kissed him.
“Ew, Mommy and Daddy are kissing!” Alura exclaimed and squealed as both Kara and Querl went to tickle her sides.
Moments like these are the moments Querl enjoys the most.
10. "Stay here with me. For the rest of our lives"
It had only been a four months since Querl came back from the future, and it still felt surreal for everyone. Querl had living in his old room at the DEO, not feeling comfortable with living with Kara. And they were okay with it. Until Kara started thinking how it would be better with him living with her and Alura. She just didn't know how to bring it up.
That was until one day Alex offered to have Alura over for a sleepover. So that Kara and Querl could have the weekend to themselves. They agreed, and mostly spent it at Kara's house being lazy.
They had just finished lunch and was lounging on the couch when Kara decided to bring up the conversation.
Getting settled on the couch Kara leaning her head on Querl's shoulders. In turn, he moved to wrap his arm around her. “Stay here with me. For the rest of our lives,” Kara blurted out before her nerves could stop her.
“Of course. I would never leave you and Alura again,” Querl said, kissing the top of her head. “I don't think I could ever leave again.”
“Promise?” Querl hummed as his answer. “Well in that case, why don't you move in with us?”
Querl looked at her in surprise. “Are you sure?”
Kara nodded, and turned around so she was looking at him. “Yes. You practically live here anyways. Alura loves having you here, and she's not the only one.”
“But I won't want to intrude.”
“Querl, you wouldn't be intruding at all. You're Alura's father, and I love you. This is you're home as much as it is ours.”
“Well, I was hoping we'd be married before I move here,” Querl said, smiling as Kara blushed. “But I suppose I can still move here with you before that.”
“You want to marry me?” Kara stuttered out. “And not just because of Alura?”
“No, I've wanted to marry you since we started dating. But I heard that it was too soon to ask you. And given how I knew more about you then you knew of myself. I felt I should have waited.”
“Is that so?” Querl nodded. “Well, I'll say yes to that question whenever you decide to ask.”
“Good to know.”
They spent the rest of the day just talking. When Alura came home later that day, they went out as a family and told Alura that Querl would be moving in with them. Alura had jumped in joy and hugged Querl tight.
“So you're staying for good?” Alura asked, wanting to make sure for herself that he wasn't going to leave.
“Yes, I'll be staying here for good,” Querl answered, returning the hug.
“Good. Because I don't think I'll ever ever let you go!” Kara giggled at that and dragged them for ice cream for celebration.
And it felt like her little family was finally complete.
Leaving AU, Kara helping Alex when she finds out Alex is expecting
"Have my feet always looked so fat?" Alex asked, studying her feet that were resting on the coffee table.
Kara snorted and shook her head. "No, they're just swollen. Try compression socks. They might help."
Alex hummed and took the cup from Kara's hand, just as Kara sat down beside her. "I miss wine," she said, taking a sip.
"I know, but you'll have to make do without it. It's not good for the baby."
Alex pouted but nodded in agreement. "You'll come with me to the appointment later, right?"
"I thought Kelly was going."
"Something came up at work, and she couldn't change it," Alex explained. "Please, Kara? It's my first appointment, and I'm nervous.
"There's nothing to nervous about, Alex. You'll do fine." Alex gave her sister her best puppy eyes, Kara sighed. "Fine, I'll go. I'm sure Winn wouldn't mind spending more time with Alura."
"Have you told her yet? About being a cousin?"
"Not yet. But I'm sure she'll be excited. Hungry?" Kara asked, getting up from the couch."
"I could go for some popcorn and caramel sauce." Kara scrunched up her nose at the combination. "Don't judge, I didn't when it came to your cravings."
"That's because all I craved were powered donuts," Kara reminded Alex but set out to make Alex's snack. "I never said congratulations, did I?"
"No, you were to busy being excited about becoming an aunt."
"Well you can't blame me," Kara said turning to Alex with a pout. "It's not every day my sister gets to tell me she's pregnant."
"I mean I guess," Alex teased, smiling. "You'll help me right? I know I know I can count on Kelly, but sometimes she'll be busy that she can't drop everything to help."
"Alex, you helped me during my pregnancy. Of course I'll help you with whatever you need."
Brainy coming back to see Kara, and thinking she and Winn are married because Winn told him Alura was his kid
Querl promised himself, and his friends, that he wouldn’t go back. He’s not sure if he could handle anymore of Kara’s happiness. Everyone seemed happy and it looked like Kara moved on.
Granted, he was happy they were happy. But it still hurt and he wished he could go back and stay with them. That he could live the rest of his life with Kara and their friends.
Before Querl could stop himself, he found himself standing in the control room of his ship. He thought if he should go back or not.
Just one more trip can’t hurt, right?
Making up his mind, he set the time and date and he was off.
Soon he found himself at a park. Looking around, he saw children playing, and parents watching them with smiles. A moment later, he found who he was looking for, and smiled.
She still looked the same, still had that smile that could brighten anyone’s mood.
Soon, Kara was joined by Winn while Alura ran past them to her friends. “Bye Mommy!” she called, before joining her friends.
Querl smile fell as he watched his friends. He shouldn’t have been surprised. Alura did need a mother in her life. Though he was surprised that Winn had chosen Kara.
He should be happy for them, should be glad that they found love in each other. But it was still hard to watch them be happy. Watching Kara smile at Winn, smiling at Alura.
They were happy and Querl didn’t want to disturb that. So with one final look, Querl turned around and never looked back.
