also, as someone who used to work in banking, it's not always the cardholder's fault. Sometimes you do have money and something's wrong with the database. So shame on that person for assuming.
Exactly; I have to explain this all the time at work since my work tends to raise a lot of red flags for most banks when it comes to large purchases so very often I assure people they just need to call the bank and let them know its them making the purchase so they can authorize it, because I know how embarrassing that can feel.

*hugs* dude, that's so nasty. i hope you reported them to their manager so they can get reprimanded.
I wish I can say I did the right thing and asked to talk to his manager, but I had such a delayed response to it and felt so uncomfortable I just grabbed my stuff and ran out as soon as I could. It wasn’t until like five minutes later that my anxiety went away and I just got mad.

Oh hey, this is a universally embarrassing moment for so many people and is something so many people consider shameful and embarrassing - LET'S POINT IT OUT AND JOKE ABOUT IT IN PUBLIC THAT'S NOT DICKISH AT ALL!!!!! (jfc what's wrong with people - that's a basic customer service no-no)
Ugh, I know! I believed him too; my mind was frantically trying to figure out what bill I forgot about that must’ve overdrawn my account, and then having to suck up my embarrassment and ask my brother to pay for a $5 bag of candy...it’s literally one of my worst anxieties when I buy something so fuck that guy so much. I work in customer service too and having to decline ppl’s stuff is really rough to do. UGH

that's been happening for me too! i live like 10 minutes from downtown in a major city of the US. Google maps works fine. I think it's the server.
ok good to know :u im p much on the ass side of nowhere with a ton of trees and hills so i was a little Concerned
