Feel free to ignore this if you count this under "please google this" but I wanted to do a similar mod to dance w viv (but for more people) and wondered 1. if it was ok and 2. do I need to use frosty or can I use the original tools? I'd prefer to use the original tools since that's what I have as many mods I use aren't frosty compatible but I'd like to make it so if possible

1. of course it’s ok the more mods the merrier imo

2. you can use daimm but you’re limited to what will load without bundle load hacks. this includes headmorphs for all companions and advisors, and the nutcracker suit and celene’s dress in addition to florianne’s. you can try other npc outfits from the ballroom but don’t expect most if any to work bc frostbite is the devil.

I’ve shown what I changed for dance w viv here (and also uploaded fbprojects with more advanced swap methods here). if you’re using just daimm it’s just simple guid swaps (sirsagrell’s tutorial is a good place to start if you’re not familiar). if you have frosty installed you can make the mod in frosty and import it into daimm.

idk if the method to swap just florianne’s cutscene spawn data instead of her entire spawn template would import into daimm properly bc I never got that far and daimm is inconsistent but it’s usually worth a try. 1.0.16 is generally a bit more forgiving when it comes to importing ebx of different size than other versions in my experience.

Wow, not that I was 100 percent comfortable with Mantis being treated how she was in guardians of the galaxy but this really does sour the movie for me a lot - and this was a movie in my top three mcu movies

Yeah, it’s overall definitely one of the better MCU films even with this--I really like the Guardians movies for being a little tonally different, colourful/visually engaging, more adventurous and not too serious, and the music use--and as it stands it’s still in my top 5, but same, it really sours things for me too.

First of all - this is blessed work. Second of all - I heard that the reason we couldn't change characters like Briala and Fiona like we could in DA:O and 2 was because it would replace the entire skin color "slot" so everyone that shared that skin color would end up changing. Is this true with this wip?

Yeah I tried modifying the values for her headmorph file in Frosty...

^But even when I changed this value to a different skin tint, and other values, nothing actually happened? And it was disappointing because I was so sure I found a way around that ridiculous shit. I have no idea how BioWare put this damn game together, nothing makes sense. So what I did instead is the same thing past attempts have done, which is replace the skin tint 01 texture with the texture for 07, thus, yeah, every character that uses the tint 01 now has 07. However, unlike the other mods, the face texture I made is transparent, meaning not everyone who uses the same face texture as her will have a brown face. But they will all have her wrinkles. Again, because for some reason attempting to change what texture her headmorph file uses did jack shit. And ditto again for the eye texture. :/ Meaning using this mod makes it necessary to turn it on and off for her cutscenes only.

💭 - when did you realise you were lgbt?

The funniest thing. Basically for ages I had that feeling that I wasn’t straight but didn’t know where to place it so instead I was The Best Ally. At one point I sort of shifted my views, it wasn’t an instant click, more a progress, around the age of 20? I think. It was hard because I didn’t really have a point of reference, as I felt attraction but I couldn’t recall being in love. Then one day I’m reading this stupid fucking comic and a character gets jealous and I instantly relate it to that one time 15-year-old me had to watch my best friend snog some creature, and I fucking realise that hey, there’s the reference I was waiting for.

💌 - what makes your heart melt?

LGBT+ people being fucking happy and living their lives. Also small animals and children, lmao.

1. What is your favorite fic you have under your belt?

For this I’m choosing to mean “completed,” which is a hard one to answer because I love them all for different reasons. For general audiences, no ships in sight, it would be “The Right Puff” (Josie & Leliana friendship fic). For general audiences, Zevran x Lyna (and implied Lyna x Alistair), it would be “Da’Arlathan.” And for smut, Zevran x Tabris, it would be “When the Talking Stops.” I apologize, it’s a somewhat cowardly response. But they each do something differently that I love, and if I could get all that into one fic I would!

5. What’s your favorite headcanon you use in fics?

The variations between Dalish clans! I don’t go into it very much, but it’s always in the back of my head when I’m writing something to do with the Dalish. Bioware tends to write them as if they were a monolithic culture, which makes absolutely no sense to me considering how nomadic they are, how spread out they are, and just the sheer amount of time they’ve had to wander. Some things may be true in each clan, but how they express or use or adhere to each thing - from vallaslin to food to mage population and more - should have at least the slightest variation from clan to clan.

9. What’s the fic you like the least?

“As Time Goes By.” Not because I dislike it at all, but because I haven’t been inspired for it in a while, and there are serious issues in it that absolutely need addressing in additional chapters. (It’s a Casablanca-inspired DA2/DAI AU.) I did make sure to put in its description that I’d only update as I got inspired, but still: woops. I feel like I’m letting people down the longer I go without updating. Perhaps I’ll get reinvigorated at some point and finally do at least the Fenris chapter that’s been cooling its heels way in the back of my head. He definitely has some things to say about his new situation that people are not going to like to hear.

11. What’s a fanfic idea you haven’t done yet?

I have had a plan for a good while now for writing an inverse MGiT, where Cullen comes to Earth. Specifically via one of those time rifts in Redcliffe they’d thought closed, but re-opened when Alexius uses the amulet to try to get rid of the Inquisitor. Cullen has to deal with a demon that pops up and they both fall here, on a woman’s farm, on Samhain. He barely manages to kill it and promptly falls on his face, and said woman - buff and rangy lady who took over her father’s farm after he died of cancer - now has to deal with an unconscious fully-armored stranger. She doesn’t believe in magic (even with what she witnessed), lapsed and doubting in her own faith, and has no idea how to get him home even if she did believe. He’s stuck there, going through withdrawal, and is put in the unique position now of not just believing in but having to defend magic if he’s got even the slightest chance of going home. Faith is the overarching theme of the whole work.

It’d take place over approximately a year’s time with a slow and painful and awkward burn. She’s got trust issues because she’s been derided too many times as being “homely,” and by the time that even becomes a concern there’s also him wanting to go back home. (But unlike some of my fics, it will have a happy ending!)

i honest 2 god felt like da:i was gaslighting me abt him. 

i play nothing but the same surana in origins like i know wtf he did. i watched him call her a “thing” he “couldn’t have”. i got that epilogue slide. i played witch hunt and saw the chantry bury what he did and shuffle him away to some monastery like the catholic church do w rapist priests irl. i saw the shit he did in da2, what he said, what a goosestepping piece of shit he was. then he fails upward into a job he is grossly unqualified for.

and everywhere you turn in inquisition they are selling him harder than an infomercial product it’s so disgusting lol

even before that game he was dead in my canon an never even made it to kirkwall but there is a very good reason why loghain is khedira’s military commander. (and even that i got trolls over and i’m like. there is a very distinct difference b/w how the narrative treats these two characters and if you don’t understand that i’m not holding ur fuckin hand tbh)
