I said to my mother that I was appalled they were re enacting probably one of the worst moments of their life

well some sort of re-enactment generally happens at these sorts of ceremonies (the 90th anniversary of vimy ridge had one, too, and also had students represent fallen soldiers), and i think that if they were going to do it, the way they did it was mostly tastefully done

but i think the explosives and pyrotechnics were maybe unnecessary
