Bot was on Indefinite Island, having recently been eliminated from Inanimate Insanity Invitational. The island’s environment was dark and sandy, providing a rather dreary atmosphere. The company present on the island, however, provided a sense of liveliness and connection that helped its residents endure the conditions.
Bot sat on the sand, watching the waves lap up against the island coast. They scooped up a handful of sand, allowing it to run through their fingers, until only a dusting remained in their palm. They repeated this action as they remained seated there, seemingly lost in thought.
Goo spotted Bot from the mainland, slowly making his way in their direction, and ultimately ending up at their side.
“Hey! What are you up to?” Goo chirped, watching his friend turn and look at him.
“Oh, hey. Not much.” A hint of dejection could be detected in Bot’s tone, as they turned back to the water, picking up another handful of sand.
Goo eyed them with a mix of confusion and concern. He shifted slightly closer.
“Is… everything alright? You seem a bit down.”
Bot kicked at the sand. “I don’t know. I mean, I’m glad to be back with you and Test Tube. Everyone’s been so understanding.” They gave a weak smile. “It’s just… I’m still kinda bummed I got out, y’know?”
Goo nodded. “I get what you mean. It’s not the best feeling in the world.” He admitted. “But, there are plenty of people here that can relate! If you’re going to be sad, best to do it in a place where people understand, and can help work through those feelings together.”
Bot smiled. “Thanks, Goo. Seems like you’re holding up your end of the Cheer Factory just fine.” They chuckled.
“I’m not done quite yet!”
Bot watched as Goo crawled his way forward, advancing up onto Bot’s legs. He slowed to a stop once he was situated directly on top of their knees.
A confused Bot watched as Goo began to physically vibrate. The action triggered the nerve sensors in their knees, causing suppressed giggles to bubble up in their chest.
“Hehey! Goohoo! That tihickles!” Bot giggled out. They attempted to push at him, but found that each time they made contact, their hands simply slipped off of his body.
“I know,” Goo grinned, “that’s the point!”
Goo then paused the action, advancing further up Bot’s legs. He stopped just in front of their abdomen, eyeing the robot’s two metal wings.
“Your design is so cute!” Goo cooed, as residual titters emanated from Bot. “I could just… eat you up!”
Goo then leaned over and began to nibble at the underside of one of Bot’s wings. Bot squeaked, falling onto their back.
“NOHOT THE WIHIHINGS!” They laughed, rapidly waving their arms in the air.
“Looks like someone’s ready for liftoff!” Goo teased, continuing the action.
Bot squirmed around on the ground, unable to get away. “NAHAHA! GOOHOO!”
Goo pulled back, turning his attention to Bot’s other wing.
“Don’t think I forgot about you!” He began nibbling at its underside.
“NOHOHO!” Bot protested through their laughter. “CUHUT IT OHOUT!”
After a few minutes, Goo gave the wing one final nibble, before pulling back.
Bot lay there, catching their breath, as they felt Goo’s body weight resting on top of them.
“Ahare you finished yet?” Bot questioned, their breathing beginning to return to normal.
“Mm, not quite!”
Before Bot could respond, Goo planted a raspberry directly on their stomach. Bot shrieked, their limbs flailing about.
“Okay, now I’m done!” Goo chimed, watching as Bot settled back down. “Are you feeling any better?” He inquired, his tone having softened.
Bot gave a small nod. “Yehes. Thanks, Goo.”
Goo beamed. “Always here to help!”
Goo then backed off of Bot, who sat themself up once more. Goo joined at their side, keeping them company, as the pair watched the waves move in and out. They may have lost at the competition, but they had certainly found something just as valuable.
