Spoilers for Natlan’s archon quest ending below!!
—————————————————————————-
Kinich was never big on smiling. He was always seen with a relatively stoic, serious expression; maybe occasionally smirking in the presence of his closest companions, but otherwise a solemn individual.
One wouldn’t blame him for his demeanor at all, considering all he’s been through growing up as well as the constant stress of a potential abyss attack at any moment. It’s not that he was depressed, there just wasn’t currently much to go out of his way to smile for.
His best friend did not share this sentiment.
Mualani alternatively was almost never not smiling. She had a grin that lit up her tribe, along with the moods of everyone around her. She stayed positive, making sure the friends around her felt at least a little similar. There is a time for battle yes, and when that time comes she will fight valiantly as she always has. But just as there is a time to fight, there’s a time to play, time to relax, and arguably most important, time to smile! Smiling is good for you after all.
Which is why she was initially concerned about her dear buddy Kinich.
It’s not that he never ever smiled, they were just few and far between, and not nearly enough for someone in the presence of Mualani.
He was a little difficult to crack at first, though. He never gave more than a smirk at any jokes she’d make, never let out more than a chuckle at her own slip ups, and of course he never smiles when he’s alone! How’d she know that? A certain dragonlord with no concept of privacy.
None can remain so stoic around Mualani. At least not for extended periods of time.
So, one in a while, when she felt it’s been a day too long, Mualani would take it upon herself to make him finally laugh. By tickling of course. It’s not like she had much of a choice, after all-When else would he laugh?
This became kind of a routine. It was her way of looking out for Kinich. And sure, usually he’d get her back moments after, but it’s all worth it if it means he has a change of expression once in a while. Laughter is good for you after all.
This was all before the abyss’s war on Natlan was won. The tribespeople, while still able to live enjoyable lives, had to be constantly prepared and ready for battle, as the abyss could attack at any time. However, once the war was won, that hyper-vigilance was no longer needed. It took time for the nation to adjust, but everyone changed slowly and surely. Even the pyro archon was starting to act more herself.
Kinich was no exception to this. He began to smile naturally more often. A soft laugh in a conversation wasn’t so rare anymore, he was finally loosening up. Mualani couldn’t be happier for him.
So why on earth was the urge to get him stronger than ever right now??
She, Kinich, and Kachina all had a busy day today, so to chill out afterwards they got dinner and hung out at the springs for a bit. Kachina had now already gone home for the day, as it would have been a strange hour of the night for a girl her age to be out.
Mualani watched him as they sat in the hot spring together. His breathing was slow, his face was relaxed, and he gazed up at the stars lighting the dark sky. His usually stern, sometimes cold eyes had a rare softness to them, like he was content with all that lead up to this moment.
They had fought hard for times like this. Being there in the moment felt surreal, but seeing Kinich look so undisturbed grounded her in the reality of their tranquility.
She was sure he felt her watching him, but wasn’t going to say anything about it. He trusted her. He could let his guard down around her, he could be vulnerable. He could sit with his arms out on either side of him, resting on the rocks, leaving that spot completely exposed-
“Pff!”
Oops. Mualani hadn’t thought before she acted.
She was trying to distract herself from the initial ler mood, not wanting to disturb the serene moment, but she had already reached a finger over to softly poke the spot at the bottom of the back of his ribs. Very specific.
Well, in too deep now, I guess.
She pulls him a little closer and wraps an arm around him to scratch at his exposed back. Kinich is generally a stoic guy, but that’s all it really took to get him to laugh.
And laugh he did. It came out in soft giggles. Mualani was being super gentle today, so it wasn’t unbearable. He could stand it, fight it even. He could turn the tables right now if he wanted to.
But there was no reason to. It’s not like he minded tickling in the first place, Mualani got him fairly used to it. He wondered if she had any specific goal to her actions, usually when they’re playing around she’s a lot rougher (and more devious).
Well, whatever her reason may be, he trusted her, and allowed it to happen.
The water around then rippled, but didn’t splash, as he squirmed about. He curled and arched his back, he twisted and turned, all to no avail. Mualani’s hands followed him wherever he went.
Kinich’s laughter wasn’t loud, but it wasn’t restrained either. There’d be a small squeak whenever she got to his ribs, but that was the extent. It was light, calm, breathy.
Eventually, Mualani slowed to a stop. She continued to watch him with sparkles in her eyes, taking in the moment. His face was a little pink, residual giggles still left his lips.
It wasn’t long before Kinich retaliated, however, and now the air was filled with Mualani’s bright giggles.
Maybe she didn’t need a reason. Maybe the fact that she didn’t need a reason is proof enough at how far they’ve come. It was time like this that they fought for, times where friends could chill in a hot spring after a long day and tickle eachother without a purpose.
Patiently waiting for some new fics with the genshin Bois!!! If you add in a bit of foot tickling as well that would be really awesome!!!

“Kin…are you alright? You went all out on that guy.”
After seeing that ordeal, Aether walked up to Kinich, picking up his hand and squeezing it.
“Don’t worry, I’m fine. I wasn’t the one who just got dragged all the way here,” Kinich smiled weakly. “Sorry about getting you in— !!!”
Before Kinich could finish speaking, Aether hugged him tightly.
“I didn’t mind being involved. Besides, I got to spend time with you.”
Kinich sighed, settling his head into the crook of Aether’s neck and hugging him back.
“I...I overheard some of that conversation between you and him,” Aether spoke up, pulling away from the hug to look at Kinich. “That must have brought back some of those memories you told me about.”
“You remembered?”
“Of course I remember, Kimchi. I can’t forget what you told me back in Natlan. It's important to me.”
“I didn't tell you the full story back then, did I?”
“You didn't, but it's okay if you aren't ready to tell me yet.”
“No, I want to tell you now. You deserve to hear it after being so patient with me.”
Both Aether and Kinich locked eyes, and the latter took a deep breath and opened his mouth.
“Aw, don't start crying like a little baby!”
A very familiar, pixelated dragon butted in before Kinich could say anything.
“A servant as yourself shouldn't be—”
Ajaw immediately shut up upon feeling a searing look from none other than Aether. A piercing look that made him back away in fear. Kinich knew that look, and it sent shivers down his own spine. The look of a promise of painful suffering to those who harm or talk bad to the ones he loves. He saw it on the battlefield, and it was a sight he'll never forget.
Ajaw must have remembered too, as he retreated back to his place, leaving Kinich and Aether alone on the shore. Aether sighed, scratching the back of his head.
“Sorry. I can't stand idly by while Ajaw throws punches at you like that.”
“Don't apologize. You have nothing to apologize for. He can be a nuisance sometimes, but still…thank you for watching out for me.” Kinich spoke, saying the last part quietly.
They stood there in silence, gazing out into the shore as the waves softly crashed upon the sand.
“Let’s get out of these clothes,” Aether says, breaking the silence. “We can take a dip while we talk or just sit on the sand. But either way, I wanna get out of my clothes and chill for a while, with you.”
“And you’re suggesting we change where?”
“Here, of course~”
“!!!”
Aether stuck his tongue out at Kinich’s surprised, flushed expression.
“Well, behind the rock, and I’ll put up a water illusion thingy that I learned from Lyney. All my glory is only for your eyes to see~”
“Ae,” Kinich whined into Aether’s chest. “You’re going to kill me.”
Aether just smirked, pulling Kinich behind the rock and wielding hydro to shield them from prying eyes.
“There. Now let’s change.”
They sneaked peeks at each other, giggling all the while and keeping their hands to themselves. They were near a public event after all.
“Looking good, Malipo~” Aether remarked after they finished changing, letting the hydro illusion fall.
“Not bad yourself, Tumaini~” Kinich replied back with a grin.
They laughed, walking down the shoreline towards a more secluded spot on the beach.
“Swim or sit?”
“Let’s sit for now.”
They made themselves comfortable on the sand and Kinich laid his head against Aether’s shoulder as they gazed at the sunset.
“I suppose there’s no point hiding it from you,” Kinich started. “To put it plainly, I can’t stand gamblers. They’re the most irresponsible people in the entire world. No respect for the principle that you have to give in order to get.”
Aether hummed in understanding as Kinich moved to lay his head in his boyfriend’s lap, still gazing toward the sunset as the waves licked the shore.
“They’ll tell a thousand lies for a single coin, deluding themselves into thinking they can use it to gamble their way to a vast fortune. But when it looks like you’re getting something for free, there’s always an unseen cost.”
“Wait, Kin. Are you talking about your…?”
“Yes, my father,” Kinich sighed as he recalled the memories. “It was I who had to pay the price for his gambling losses. I never want anyone else to end up in a similar situation like I did if I can help it.”
“Kin…I’m sorry you had to go through that.” Aether says, raking his hand through Kinich’s hair.
Kinich closed his eyes, melting into Aether’s massaging fingers.
“Don’t feel sorry for me. I certainly don’t feel sorry for myself. I believe that we should never punish ourselves for the mistakes of others. For me, I chose to remember the moments that helped me grow.”
He opened his eyes to turn and look up at Aether, giving him a small smile.
“Like when I first learned to use a grappling hook,” he raised his hand, giving a small twirl of his wrist. “Or the very first time I yearned for knowledge.”
Aether saw the youthful, happy look in his eyes, and his heart warmed up knowing that even though Kinich had a rough childhood, he still managed to smile and find happiness.
“They say that people are shaped by their past,” Kinich continued, bringing Aether out of his thoughts. “And since I’ve made it this far, I must’ve done a lot of things right. And you being one of them.”
“Kin, I think it’s the other way around. I’m the one that—”
“Loving you, you idiot,” Kinich rolled his eyes before pulling Aether down for a kiss. “Falling for you. Get your mind out of the gutter. Do I have to spell it out for you?”
“Yes, yes, you do,” Aether grinned cheekily, though there was a faint blush dusting his cheeks.
Kinich suddenly pushed him back on the sand and towered over him, intertwining their fingers and bringing Aether’s arms over his head and kissing him deep with so much passion that Aether felt like almost passing out. Aether let out a low moan as he squirmed beneath Kinich. Feeling the way Kinich nipped at his lips. Not to mention how he talked in between kissing.
“I love how ngh our lips slot perfectly into each other’s. How you always mmm know what to say. The way you ahh look at me like I’m the only one.”
After more kissing and biting, Kinich finally pulled away, panting, still clasping his hands with Aether’s as he looked at his bitten, still parted lips. Swollen and red alongside the dazed, flushed look on his face.
Kinich leaned downward again for another kiss, but was met with a giggle instead.
“What’s so funny?”
“Just a leheaf on my foot. Please kiss mehe more, though.”
Kinich glanced behind him, and sure enough, there was a leaf fluttering along his sole, and noticed Aether curling his toes and wiggling his foot to get the stubborn leaf to fly away. He smirked inwardly but obliged, kissing him tenderly.
“Mmnn- Wha— Kinich!”
Aether exclaimed, tugging at his now-restrained arms and giving Kinich a glare.
“What are you doing??”
“Yearning for knowledge about your body~”
Aether felt his face heat up at that.
“Y-You can’t just say stuff like that.”
“And you can?”
“Ye—ahaHAHAhahaHA!”
Aether was cut off by his own giggles and laughs as Kinich scribbled his fingers along his abdomen.
“I got you cornered~” Kinich teased as he moved his lips over Aether’s skin, peppering kisses until he reached his target and blew right into Aether’s navel.
Kinich continued, ignoring Aether’s protests, though he had a tinge of red on his ears after teasing Ae.
“I know your upper body is ticklish, so how about testing your lower body?”
Still giving Aether raspberries, he drifted his hands down, parting Aether’s legs and squeezing his inner thighs experimentally.
"HaHaahAHAhahahh~"
Aether moaned. He moaned, and it was loud. Kinich immediately pulled away, glancing around to see if anyone was coming. Though considering that Aether was laughing loudly for the past few minutes and no one approached them, they're probably in the clear. He glanced back at Aether, and he was surprised to not see a bulge on his beach shorts.
"Rehehelax," Aether breathed out, bringing Kinich out of his thoughts. "Ihi created a littlehe bubble around us so no one can see or hear. Though I admit that was a loud one hehe."
Aether grinned sheepishly.
"Wait, when did you—"
"A magician never tells their secrets~"
"Were you secretly hoping this was going to turn to something more spicy?"
"Maybeee~"
"You are so kinky and horny for your own good," Kinich shook his head fondly, returning to tickling, though this time behind the calves. "Maybe we can see how the tickles affect you down there when we're in private."
"Kihinihihich!" Aether whined.
"Not that strong reaction here, how about the back of your knees?"
Kinich inched himself so he was eye level with Aether’s knees and began crawling five fingers over to the back of Aether’s left knee, and was almost hit in the face as his lover's knee jerked upwards.
“Sohohorry kinihIHICH!? NAHahahAHA!”
“Are you trying to knee me in the face?”
“NoHOHoHOhoho! I wahaHAHAsn’t hehehEHEHE!” Aether denied, trying to keep his knee from instinctively rising up due to the soft, tickly touches, but failing every time.
Kinich smirked as he curled his arm around both legs and put his weight on them before squeezing both knees.
“WAHAHAHAI—! AHAHAHAHAHA! IHIHIT’S BAHAHAD! KINIHIHICH! I’M GOHOHOHOING TO DIEHEHEHE!”
Kinich kept it up for a bit as Aether squirmed, laughing in ticklish mirth as tears started to prick at his eyes. He was also trying again and again to pull his legs inward to no avail. The saurian hunter kept his legs from moving anywhere and tortuously switched between vibrating his fingers inside the hollows of his knees and squeezing around them.
“Annnnd that leaves one more spot,” Kinich says, slowing to a stop and moving to sit on top of Aether’s legs and facing towards Aether’s feet, hovering his fingers over his bare soles.
“Nohohoho!” Aether yelped.
“I’m not even touching you!” Kinich laughed, turning back to look at him, catching a glimpse of his sunshine radiating pure joy. “How ticklish are you down here?”
“Very, now get off meheheHAHAHAHAHA! NAHAHAHAHA!”
Aether went full on ballistic, thrashing as much as he could as Kinich raked his fingernails down his soles.
Aether didn’t even know what he was trying to say at this point. All he knows is how maddening the sensations are. And how Kinich is making him into a complete laughing mess.
“Hmm, how about your arches?”
Kinich started scratching a fingernail up and down, side to side, and even zigzagging along his arches, and Aether shook in ticklish mirth.
“That bad, huh. How about if I add a finger to your other arch?”
“BWAHAHAHAHA!”
Kinich chuckled, feeling the way Aether tried to buck him off, but he only tightened his grip even more.
“HAHAHAHAHA! AHAHAHAHA! KI—NAHAHAHAHA!”
“Are you trying to say something?”
Kinich didn’t see it, but Aether threw up both middle fingers at him as he pulled at his restraints and wiggled around like a fish.
To make matters worse for him, it’s as if the gods told Kinich of what Aether had done as he felt his toes being pulled back and fingers wiggling at the base of them.
Aether’s laughter fell into silence, and Kinich immediately pulled back, and with a snap of his finger, the power he was using to restrain Aether’s wrists vanished and transferred back to him.
“Did I go overboard? Sorry. Your laughter is just so…cute,” Kinich was blushing from ear to ear as he turned around to check on Aether.
“I’m fihine. You didn’t hohold bahack, dihid you?” Aether sighed, residual giggles leaving his lips.
“Yeah,” Kinich scratched the back of his head sheepishly.
“I enjoyed it a lot, but y’know what I enjoy more?”
“What?”
“Revenge~”
Kinich widened his eyes as he saw the devilish glint in Aether’s eyes. He failed to catch how fast Aether recovered from his voice, and it was his fault for forgetting his boyfriend’s stamina. Though how could that have slipped his mind when Aether is always full of energy and passionately f—
He immediately bolted upright, stumbling over his own two feet in the sand and trying to push down those thoughts as Aether himself got up and leapt at him. Buttttt it was a moment too late as he face planted into the sand and Kinich grapple hooked into the sea.
“He earned that title of ‘Saurian Hunter’ after all,” Aether chuckled, spitting out the sand that got in his mouth and wiping his mouth, revealing a grin. “Good one, Kinich! But I’m gonna catch ya~”
Wielding the power of anemo, he sprang up into the air and gracefully dived into the water right behind Kinich, who was desperately swimming as fast as he could. Aether broke through the water, arching over Kinich and giving him a wink, and just to be a tease, lighting up his pyro tattoos. Kinich couldn’t help but stop to stare, whether it was from the way Aether jumped over him like a dolphin or the pyro tattoos on his belly curving downwards, or both. Probably both, Aether giggled to himself before splashing down right in front of Kinich.
Kinich had no time to react as he was tackled from the front and surrounded by a water bubble and getting stuck in Aether’s arms.
Both of them caught their breath as they looked around at the beautiful underwater scenery around them. Ranging from the coral reefs and ancient ruins to blubberbeasts and armored crabs
The tranquility didn’t last long, though, as Aether pinned him down.
“Aether!”
Kinich had a wobbly grin on his face as he tried to free himself.
“Kinich~”
Aether singsonged back.
They both stared at one another, devious eyes meeting progressively flustered ones.
“Just do it already if you’re going to do it,” Kinich mumbled.
“Do what?~”
“Aether, don’t be like thisss!” he couldn’t help but whine.
“I’m just asking you what? What do you not want me to do?~”
“You know what!”
“Mmm, I don’t know~”
Aether skittered his fingers over Kinich’s abdomen, making the latter let out a squeal.
“Thahahahat! Tihihickling mehehe!”
“Tickling you? That’s what you wanted me to do?”
“Wait! Nohoho! Thahahat’s nohohot— GahAHAha!”
“No? But you never lie. Gasp. Don’t tell me you’re lying to me???”
“I’m NAHAhahat! You’rehe usIHING my wohohords agahahAHAINst MEHEHE!”
Aether just laughed deviously.
“Is that so?~”
After a moment of teasing Kinich’s midriff, he started to move down towards his feet.
“Say Kinich, are you ticklish down here too?~”
“DohoHON’T!”
“Ah, so you’re very ticklish here~ Don’t mind if I do~”
Without a moment’s hesitation, he dug into Kinich’s soles, raking his fingers down them and eliciting high-pitched laughter from him.
“Oh, I’m the evil one,” Aether rolled his eyes. “All I'm seeing is that you can’t take what you dish out~”
Aether began circling the ball of his foot, drawing random shapes and scribbles. He didn’t get that strong a reaction from him, though Kinich was giggling uncontrollably still.
“Stahahahap touchihihing mehehe thehehere!”
Aether just hummed happily before jumping to the pads of his toes without warning and using his finger as a paintbrush to draw more shapes. He stuck his tongue out in concentration trying to write ‘Tickle me here :)’, but Kinich completely lost it before he could finish.
“AEHEHEHETHER IHIHIT’S TOO MUHUHUHUCH! GAHAHAHAHA!”
Kinich’s feet wiggled in Aether’s grasp, and his whole body was shaking from how much he was laughing. He weakly tried to pull his feet back, but couldn’t think straight as those ticklish sensations flooded his brain.
“BWAHAHAHAHA! PLEHEHEASE! AEHEHE—”
He slapped the bubble’s surface repeatedly in ticklish mirth, causing it to suddenly pop and both of them to become drenched in water. Thankfully, Fontaine’s waters allowed them to breathe underwater, and they both swam towards the surface.
“Pwah~ You’rehe sohoho tihihicklish Kihihin!” Aether giggled out when they both surfaced.
“Shut up,” Kinich blushed, looking away as he still felt the ghostly tingles on his feet, curling and uncurling his toes to get rid of the sensation.
“You were lucky you're in the water. Wait until we're back on land, I'll tickle the fuck out of you~” Aether says with a devilish undertone and a sweet face, the threat of wiggling fingers just outside of Kinich’s peripheral vision.
Kinich let out a noise between a groan and a whine, and Aether laughed in response.
After a beat, he glanced back at Aether and caught him staring at him fondly. They locked eyes as Kinich felt his heart pound in his chest, and he was sure Aether's was as well, the sounds deafening in their ears. Aether lifted his hand out of the water and cupped Kinich’s cheek, caressing him as his thumb swiped over his lips. They inched closer like waves drawn to the shore until their chests were flush with one another and their breaths fanning over each other's faces. Floating in the ocean as the sun set, starry eyes meeting lizard-like ones.
“I love you.”
Both of them said it at the same time, widening their eyes in surprise before giggling and then quieting down as the water rippled around them.
Aether was the first to move, leaning forward and catching Kinich’s lips with a kiss. Kinich met him, cupping the back of his head and passionately kissing him back. Their kiss was soft, sweet, and gentle. A slow dance of love between them.
A few minutes passed of their sensual dance before they broke away, with Kinich being the first to speak.
“I always wanted a kiss like that in the water.”
“You did? Since when?”
“I…I always dreamt of it even before we met. And since we got together…,” Kinich looked away, blushing. “I wanted it more than ever.”
“Kimchi…Why didn't you tell me?”
“Because I wanted it to happen naturally and also…” Kinich’s ears and cheeks were tinted pink as he brought up a hand to cover his face and looked away. “I was too shy to ask.”
There was a pause before Aether suddenly started tickling him again, catching him off guard as he let out surprised giggles.
“Hehehey Aehehether!”
“You are so cute, my love~”
“I’m nohot cutehe!” Kinich pouted when Aether pulled away with a knowing smile.
“Cute~”
They basked in each other’s presence for a moment longer, watching the sun completely set and make way to a starry sky.
“We should head back to shore,” Kinich started, breaking the silence. “It’s getting quite cold now.”
“Y’know I could always warm you up~”
Aether nuzzled against him, a smirk on his face.
“Why are you always like this?” Kinich laughed, splashing water at him.
“I saw the way you looked at me when I jumped over you. You were so thinking how far down my tattoos g—”
“Oh my gohod, stohop!” Kinich laughingly whined.
“Okay, okay. Let’s head to shore. My offer still stands, y’know~”
“How did I fall in love with you again?” Kinich sighed, shaking his head, making Aether laugh.
“Come on, let’s go home, my love.”
Aether offered his hand, and Kinich softly smiled at that, taking it as they both waded towards the shore with the stars twinkling down at them.
Kinich looked at the rose in Lyney’s hand, blinking a couple times as if to process what just happened. Where did that flower even come from? How did Lyney do that? Those and another thousand questions passed through his head at that moment, but there was only one thing he could think of saying.
“Are… you the devil?”
“Wh- no!” Lyney giggled, shaking his head before placing the rose back in his hat. Of all the compliments and comments people made about his tricks in Fontaine, he certainly never heard this one. How amusing. “As I said, I’m a magician.”
“So, magicians are devils?” Kinich asked, cocking his head to the side and earning another giggle from the other guy.
This scenario never crossed Lyney’s mind until he visited Natlan. How to explain his “magic” to someone who never saw magic? Should he feed whatever fantasies his new friend had in mind or tell him the truth about his tricks?
Lyney sighed, leaning over the balcony and resting his head on the back of his hand. “Would you like to see another magic trick?”
Kinich thought for a moment and, after a couple seconds, looked back up to Lyney. “Ok,” he nodded.
“Alright, pay attention or you’ll miss it!” Lyney announced, speaking as if he was in some sort of actual stage. When he was sure Kinich’s eyes were glued to him, he began his little performance.
First, Lyney flashed Kinich with his brightest, most charming smile. Then, Lyney covered his lips with both his hands and, when he moved them away, a plain, emotionless facade remained where the smile was.
Lyney clenched his hand into a fist, tapping his knuckles with his index finger. “It’s here,” he whispered, enticing Kinich’s curiosity.
“Now, with a bit of magic and with the help of my cute assistant,” he said, reaching out for Kinich’s wrist, “let’s see what I can do.”
Lyney pressed his fist into Kinich’s palm, gently opening his fingers as if to give something to him. Then, he climbed Kinich’s arm with his fingers, caressing his wrist, forearm and then his elbow. “Oh, silly me. I dropped it.”
“Dropped what?” Kinich muttered, as confused as he could be while looking at his hand in Lyney’s grip.
“My smile,” Lyney nodded, as if it was something obvious, “it’s hiding here!”
“W-whahaht?!” Kinich gasped, letting out a surprised giggle when Lyney’s hand that was resting over his elbow “jumped” and latched onto his side, squeezing and tickling it. “Stohohop it, it tihihickles!”
“Oh? But I’m not tickling you, I’m trying to get my smile back,” Lyney teased, pulling Kinich’s hand to further expose his ribs and underarm to the series of ticklish pokes and prods that followed through.
Just when Kinich felt his cheeks warming up, the tickling was gone - like in a magic trick. “Aha,” Lyney cheered, holding Kinich by his chin, “so here is where my smile went, hm?”
Even after Lyney let him go, it took Kinich a moment to sit back. He touched his own cheek, smiling slightly as tingles still lingered over his body. “...you’re the devil, indeed.”
A/N: I was going to try my hand writing my first fic for AFK Journey, but I ended up doing some last minute changes in the course of action
Anyway, still not really sure how to write for Natlan characters, so be patient with me
Also, huge kudos for @mxncher_17, on Instagram, for making this comic that heavily inspired me
Coming right up, anon! I haven't played much of Natlan, so this one is a little shorter than usual. But when I get further into the game and see their characters more, I will write more for them! I did my best with little knowledge of them I have, but I had fun writing this. I hope you enjoy!

Kinich didn’t even realise he was observing as intently as he was as he watched Paimon and Aether have a moment of friendly interaction with one another.
Paimon decided she had enough of Aether’s teasing and unleashed her “Paimonial wrath” upon him. Which meant in this case, she began to tickle his sides, which proved quite effective by the looks and sounds of it.
Aether was doubled over in a fit of giggles as the small fairy like being tickled at his bare sides. It looked fun, despite the intent to be a form of punishment from Paimon. Such camaraderie.
“Makes you want to throw up, doesn’t it?” Ajaw’s irritable voice rang through his ear, reminding him of the small pixel’s presence. “Those pathetic morons.”
“What are you yapping about now?” Kinich managed to tear his gaze away and raise his brow at Ajaw.
“Just look at them! Acting like fools and making such annoying sounds in my presence!” Ajaw’s voice seemed to get louder as he spoke, either trying to drown out the noise or to make sure his insults reached their ears.
“They’re just having some fun, leave them alone.” Kinich rolled his eyes as Ajaw began another long-winded rant about something or other. His eyes landed on Aether and Paimon again and for the first time, he wondered why he couldn’t have that same level of camaraderie with his “companion”.
“Kinich!” Ajaw screeched. “You dare ignore the Almighty Dragonlord, K’uhul Ajaw when I’m talking to you?!” but Kinich still kept his focus on the traveller and Paimon which only fuelled Ajaw’s anger. “The sheer audacity! What’s wrong with you anyway? Are you that pathetic that you haven’t seen two idiots engage in such childish acts of stupidity? Were you that deprived as a child, is that it?!”
Kinich’s patience was almost wearing thin, and he was about to send Ajaw flying into time out when he felt a sudden sensation at his side. He startled with a gasp before locking eyes with the pixel dragon who hovered annoyingly close to his body.
“That got your attention!” Ajaw sneered, repeating his poking with both his small pixel hands in an annoyingly ticklish motion. Kinich squirmed away from his touch in annoyance.
“S-Stop that!”
“Why? Isn’t this what you want?” Ajaw followed after Kinich and started to rapidly poke and jab at the dendro user’s ribs, forcing out huffs of laughter from the usually stoic male. “You were staring longingly at them like a loser! Now laugh!”
And laugh Kinich did, embarrassingly so for him. He rarely even smiled, let alone laughed and now to be laughing so openly in public, by Ajaw’s mischief as well of all things. This was truly a nightmare.
“Ajaw! – ahaha, e-enough!”
“Never! I’ll make sure you laugh yourself to death, mwahaha!” Ajaw cackled, rapidly switching from side to side of Kinich’s body to keep himself at a safe advantage from Kinich’s flailing limbs to try and hit him.
Kinich could barely think through his forced laughs which eventually resulted in him using his grapple to pull him away from the assault he was under.
“HEY!” Ajaw raged, floating after him with high speeds as Kinich disappeared over the trees. “Get back here, insect!”
“Uh, what the heck just happened?” Paimon questioned with a shrug to Aether who mirrored her confused posture.
“I have no idea. I guess we’ll just wait for Kinich to come back then?” Aether stared off in the direction Kinich and Ajaw took off in.

Summary: Kinich thinks he's not ticklish, and Lumine wants to see if she can change his mind
Characters: lee!Kinich, ler!Lumine
⚠️ This fic takes place after the 5.1 archon quest
“You should really smile more often, Kinich. It looks good on you,” Lumine said, booping Kinich on the nose.
Kinich looked at Lumine’s finger as she booped him, going cross eyed for a second. He blinked and shook his head. “I-I do smile,” he said, avoiding her gaze.
The two of them were currently sitting in one of the hot springs in their swimsuits (courtesy of Mualani). Mualani had insisted that the two of them go for a dip after the catastrophe they had just been through. She even offered to hang out with Paimon and Ajaw for the day so that they could have some real alone time.
“Barely! I mean a real, genuine smile.”
Kinich looked down at his hands in his lap.
“Make sure he enjoys himself,” Lumine recalled Mualani saying to her. “He can be so stubborn at times. He deserves to smile every once in a while!” Suddenly, she got an idea.
“Hey, Kinich…” Lumine started. It’s worth a shot, she thought.
“Yes?”
“Are you… ticklish?”
“No.”
Such certainty! “Really? Are you sure?”
“I mean, I don’t think I am. Mualani has tried a couple times and I didn’t feel anything…”
“Would you mind if I gave it a try?”
“I don’t know…”
“You said you’d do anything for me, Kinich…” Lumine put her hand under his chin, gently guiding his gaze towards hers. “Please, let me try.”
A faint pink hue dusted Kinich’s cheeks. “Oh, uh, o-okay. You can try if you really want to.”
“Thank you!”
As Lumine scooted closer, Kinich became very aware that he was only wearing swim trunks. He had been fully clothed each time Mualani had tried to tickle him before. Surely this wouldn’t make much of a difference… right?
Lumine lifted her hands and-
“W-wait!” Kinich threw his hands up in front of himself protectively, accidentally splashing Lumine in the process. “S-sorry, I’m just nervous…”
“It’s okay! Let me know when you’re ready.”
“It’s not going to hurt, is it?”
“No no, not at all! I’ll start slow. I want this to be an enjoyable experience for you. You can tell me to stop at any point and I will.”
“Okay…”
“Do you want me to massage you a little first? You look really tense. I don’t want to stress you out any further. It should feel nicer if you’re relaxed anyway.”
“Oh, sure.” Kinich turned to face away from her.
Lumine gently placed her hands on Kinich’s shoulders and started massaging them. He melted into her touch, a blissful feeling washing over him. When did she get so good at this? Some time went by and, without realizing, he started to lean back into her. He rested his head on her chest.
“Feel good? I’ve never seen you nearly this relaxed before.”
Lumine slowed down her massage and began lightly rubbing his neck and shoulders instead. He had seemingly no reaction to this. Then, her fingers trailed upwards towards his ears. She fluttered her fingers against them, hoping to get some kind of reaction out of him. His head twitched slightly. She continued scritching his ears along with his neck and under his chin.
“Whahat are you dohoing?”
“Tickling you!”
“Oh, I didn’t know-aAAH!
Lumine reached underneath the water and wiggled her fingers in between his ribs. Kinich felt a very pleasant tingly sensation like no other beginning to spread all over his torso, starting from where Lumine was touching him.
“Ehehehe! Whahahahahat is happening!?”
“You’re being tickled, that’s what’s happening. Is it okay?”
“I thihink so… You’re doing it much lighter than whahat Muhalahahahani did.”
“I can do it harder~” Lumine said, digging her fingers into his ribs.
“AIIIEEHEHEHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!”
“So you are ticklish! You just needed to relax a bit.”
“AHAHA STAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!”
“If you really want me to stop, say Yumkasaur,” Lumine said as she wriggled her hands up into Kinich’s armpits.
“NaaAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!”
After a few seconds of tickling him there, she lifted him up and turned him around to face her. His face was bright red.
“Th-this is embaharrassing…”
“You don’t mind it though, do you?”
“N-no…” he said, barely audible.
Lumine lifted Kinich’s feet up onto her lap. She put one of her legs over his ankles, trapping his feet there. She started scratching all over his feet, making him jump and go into hysterics.
“WAIT STOPSTOPSTOPSTAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAP!!” Kinich waved his hands out in front of him, batting at Lumine’s hands with little effort.
“Good spot, huh?”
“AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! *hic* I CAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAN’T!! Ohoho my AhahahARCHAHAHAHA *hic* HAHAHAHAHA! N-NAHAHAHAT THEHEHEHERAHAHAHAHAHA *hic* HAHAHAHA!”
Lumine focused her attack on the balls of his feet, causing him to screech and repeatedly slap the water.
“EEEEEEEEEK! LUHUMIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHINE!!”
“Hey, you’re getting my hair wet!”
“IHIHI CAHAHAHAHAHAHAN’T HEHEHEHEHELP IT!”
Lumine let up a little, now only lightly tickling Kinich’s feet. He could not stop giggling.
“Ehehehehehehehe *snort* ihihit tihihihihickles!”
“You’re too cute, you know that?”
“Nohohoho I’m nahahahahahahat!”
“Coochie coo~ Tickle tickle tickle, Kinich!”
“DOhoHOHOhon’t sahAHAhaHAY thahAHAhahAHAHAT!”
“That’s exactly the kind of smile I was looking for!”
Kinich was beaming. Satisfied, Lumine finally released his feet. He pulled them back into the water very quickly, but no matter what he did, he couldn’t stop smiling. It still tickled, even though she wasn’t tickling him anymore. He rubbed his feet, trying to get rid of the phantom sensations.
“Your face and ears are so red,” Lumine pointed out.
Kinich covered his face with his hands.
“Did you have fun?”
He nodded, still hiding.
“I bet Mualani will be very happy to hear about this.”
“Hhnng…” Kinich groaned. “Just, don’t tell Ajaw. I’ll never hear the end of it…”
