I don’t know why, but I can’t get this image out of my head.
We all know that Shulk tends to get lost in his work. I am convinced that Shulk tends to forget to take care of himself 99% of the time (he does take care of himself, but his habit of forgetting is somewhat concerning).
This would include him not taking breaks when he should take one, not getting enough sleep, and the one I keep thinking about, forgetting to eat.
Fiora and Reyn will regularly check up on Shulk (either on their own or with each other) and notice that he hasn’t eaten. They can tell because Shulk keeps ignoring his growling stomach.
So they decide to take matters into their own hands.
One afternoon, they both go to the Weapons Development Lab to do their regular check-in on Shulk.
Except this is not an ordinary check-in.
As they usually do, they hear Shulk’s stomach growl. And that’s when they strike.
They’ll tickle Shulk all over his body, but they give his stomach the most attention. They figure that if Shulk wasn’t going to give it attention, they will.
They’ll tickle him until he promises to come out of the lab to ear.
This happens multiple times after this day. At some point, Shulk begins to notice a pattern. Fiora and Reyn will come in and tickle him at a specific time each day.
I think that Shulk would easily pick up on patterns, and this pattern becomes his daily reminder to go and eat.
Eventually, he no longer has to depend on Fiora and Reyn’s daily tickle attacks to remind himself to eat. He goes to eat on his own behalf.
While Shulk is kind of sad to miss out on these daily tickle-attacks, he knows that they’ll keep tickling him anyway, so nothing is really lost in the end.
Silver Linings from Silver Eyes (Xenoblade Chronicles Tickle Fic)
A/N: This fic came out of nowhere, but I felt like writing something to help me relax after I almost had an emotional breakdown during my online class. This fic wasn’t inspired by any specific prompt from a prompt list, I just had a spontaneous idea. I apologize in advance if this fic isn’t that good.
As always, no romance, no NSFW.
With the explanation done, onto the fic.
P.S I am very sorry to all of the people who are getting tired of my lee!Shulk posts, but lee!Shulk is just too good in my eyes.
Update 07-10-22: This fic is now on AO3! Here’s the AO3 Link!
—————————————————————————————————-
Alvis had been waiting for Shulk for about an hour. He was hiding in the hallway of his home, invisible to the entire world, when Shulk opened the front door.
The visionary let out a heavy sigh, and Alvis could immediately tell that he was stressed out and/or frustrated by something that happened at the Weapons Development Lab.
He silently followed him to his room. As soon as Shulk closed the door to his room, he slowly stretched his arms up into the air, and he slowly laid down on his bed.
He had a long day at the lab today. He had struggled with the development of a new weapon for the Defense Force in Colony 6. The blueprints confused him several times, but he eventually understood what he had to do.
Unfortunately, he had to deal with multiple instances of the weapon falling apart as he tried to test it out on a test dummy. He thought he had it down the first time, and every time it broke, he became increasingly frustrated at himself for constantly making errors. He managed to get it to stay in one piece, and it turned out to be quite useful in battle, but the frustration did not leave his mind.
He hadn’t stopped beating himself up about it, not realizing that his perseverance made him stick through the struggles until he finally got the weapon’s design and durability right.
Alvis knew that Shulk’s willpower had made him the perfect candidate for the downfall of Zanza in the old world, but he also knew that he was a pessimist, especially when it came to his own talents and skills. He had trouble seeing the silver lining to any sort of issue.
The creation of the new world did not change his behavior at all.
He does catch on to silver linings eventually, but Alvis wished that he could see them from the start.
For now, Alvis was thinking about talking to him, but he was slightly concerned about the possibility of Shulk exploding at him in anger. He tended to do that when he was upset with himself.
He doesn’t mean any harm when he has these episodes, and he wants to stop them from happening, but for now, Shulk had a very high risk of getting angry at people for no logical reason when he felt like this.
Reading Shulk’s mind didn’t bring Alvis any comfort. He could see all of the negative thoughts that he was having. None of them were alarming in any sort of way, but he wanted to put a stop to those thoughts before they got any worse.
So Alvis made his move.
He made himself visible while standing in front of the door to Shulk’s room, before he lightly knocked on the door.
The sound made Shulk jump and grab the Monado Replica EX out of the corner of the room before calling out, “Who’s there? Show yourself!”
Alvis slowly opened the door until he could see the Homs standing in the middle of the room. Upon seeing the former divine seer, Shulk lowered the artificial Monado and put it back in the corner.
“Alvis?”
The silver-haired… something gave the other man a polite wave.
“Hello there, Shulk. Sorry for scaring you.”
“How did you get in here? I thought I locked the door!” he said, confused about how the other could have walked into the house when there was no one behind him.
“I was waiting here the whole time. I wanted to speak with you about your travels on the Bionis Shoulder, but I can see that something is bothering you.” Alvis explained.
“Huh, no wonder why I felt like someone was watching me when I stepped in from outside.” Shulk responded, relieved that no one had snuck up behind him.
“Indeed, that was why. Moving on from that, you are stressed. I can tell.”
Shulk wasn’t surprised by his words. He was pretty easy to read, and lying was not something that came to him naturally.
“Uh… Yeah, I am a little stressed.”
“No need to explain. I already know what’s been bothering you.”
Now that was surprising.
“What?! How do you know about what happened at the lab?!” Shulk said, shock audible in his voice.
“Have you forgotten? I am capable of reading the minds of those around me. Your mind has been full of negative thoughts and repeats of the mistakes you made.” Alvis answered him, relaxing as he realized that Shulk wasn’t going to verbally lash out against him and himself at the moment. The risk was still there, though.
Shulk stood there without saying anything for a second, then spoke.
“I don’t get it.”
“Hm?”
“I don’t understand how I could have made those mistakes. I’m supposed to be a weapons developer, and yet I couldn’t figure out the blueprints right away!”
And there it was. Alvis knew this was going to happen.
The heir continued, “I should have been able to get that weapon to stay together, but it kept falling apart! How did I let that happen?!”
Alvis tried to interject, “Shulk…”
“No, I don’t need your pity, Alvis! Do you not see the fact that I can’t do anything right?”
Alvis tried again, “Shulk.”
“You don’t see how I am a massive failure right now? How do you not see that?!”
Alvis nearly shouted, “Shulk!”
That managed to stop the boy in his tracks, though the seer did notice that he kind of shrunk into himself in response to the near-shout. Dickson’s shouting must have done some serious psychological damage if that was how Shulk responded to someone shouting or yelling at him.
“Apologizes, but I had to stop you in some way before your thoughts spiraled out of control. Now, I want you to listen to me.”
Shulk’s eyes showed that he was still waist-deep in self-hatred, but the rest of his body showed compliance towards Alvis’s request.
“You’re lying to yourself. You are not a failure at anything, and you are capable of doing things right, even if you can’t do it right the first time. If your words were in fact the truth, why would I have chosen you?”
Alvis could tell that the budding scientist was listening, but the self-hating look in his eyes did not fade, and the expression on his face didn’t change. At least, that was what it looked like from where Alvis was currently standing. However, he knew better.
Alvis slowly approached the young man. He appeared to be thinking about backing away, but his body did not move an inch.
“You couldn’t save the lives of everyone in the old world, and yet you managed to save everyone who survived Egil and Zanza. You didn’t understand those blueprints right off the bat, but in no time, you managed to figure them out.”
Shulk didn’t quite understand how those two things were connected, but Alvis quickly provided an explanation.
“Can you see? Can you see how you are incapable of being perfect, and yet you are capable of making a drastic, positive impact on the lives of others, and are capable of learning something new in mere minutes?”
The blonde nearly lost his angry expression, feeling a slight amount of heat in his cheeks. Nonetheless, his expression remained the same.
“You are not a perfect person. Becoming a perfect person is an impossible goal to fulfill. Of course, you can strive to better yourself, but you should not expect perfection.”
Alvis knew that saying this wasn’t going to make Shulk feel any better about his imperfections, but he could tell that his words were getting through to him.
“I…” Shulk tried to say something in response, but he couldn’t find the words.
“Your face appears to be relaxing. You are blushing. Am I correct in assuming that my words are helping?”
The weapons developer quickly turned around to hide his blushing face, and he thought about what to say. He almost wanted to say “no”, but he knew that at this point, it was futile to lie to the other Homs (?). However, he didn’t want to say “yes”. He could say that right now, but he knows that Alvis’s words will not change his attitude anytime soon.
Alvis’s voice startled him out of his thoughts.
“No answer? I see… then maybe-“
As soon as the word “maybe” left the silver-haired seer’s lips, the heir sprung back into action.
“Don’t.”
Now it was Alvis’s turn to be confused, except that the confusion was being faked by him.
“Hm? What do you mean ‘don’t’? You haven’t answered my question, so I believe I need to get an answer from you, regardless of how I get it.”
“Don’t!” Shulk said with a slight squeak in his voice.
“Why are you squeaking? I didn’t say anything off putting, did I?” Alvis asked as if he didn’t know the answer to his own questions.
Shulk could hear Alvis’s smirk from behind him.
“Alvis, no!”
He tried to run out of the room, but Alvis caught him before he could even make it halfway across the room.
“Where are you going? The answers do not reside outside of this room. They do not reside in this room, either. Only you have the answers that I am seeking, and I need to find them, no matter what.”
The blonde squirmed in the seer’s arms, but he failed to loosen Alvis’s grip, and he couldn’t break free from his clutches.
“What’s with the squirming? I’m just trying to find answers. Why are you resisting me and my words of encouragement?”
“I-I’m not trying to d-deny the impact o-of your w-words!”
The stammering had begun. Alvis smiled to himself in anticipation of what was about to happen.
“Is that so? Then why did you hide yourself from me? If you wanted to tell me that, then you shouldn’t be hiding your face from my eyes. I was able to detect the impact of my words before you could even turn your back on me, but you can’t hide your feelings. That isn’t a healthy thing to do, you know.”
Alvis pulled himself and Shulk onto the latter’s bed, his arms never losing their hold on the other boy’s body.
“W-what do y-you think you’re d-doing?” Shulk was slowly starting to lose it as anticipation tore his negative thoughts to shreds, replacing them with mental images of what was inevitably going to happen to him.
“Getting my answer. And maybe, I can also add in some additional compliments to cheer you up even more.”
Alvis moved his hands onto Shulk’s stomach and began to scribble his fingers all over the spot.
“Pardon?” Alvis knew what he was talking about, but he decided to tease him by pretending he didn’t know.
“Y-YOHOHOHO- HEHEHEHEHEHEHEY!” Shulk was quickly cut off by Alvis as he felt the seer’s fingers creep up his rib cage, occasionally poking in between the bones.
“How unusual. I’ve never met someone whose ribs were easy to feel. You are rather thin, but thinness looks nice on you.” Alvis was almost as stunned as Shulk was about the words that just left his mouth, but the former was able to shake off the feeling.
The latter, however, had a brighter blush on his face than he did when Alvis was talking to him about his accomplishments.
“WHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAT?” Did he hear his correctly? Did Alvis really just say that?
“I said that thinness looks good on you. Is that an odd statement?”
The heir was about to reply, but Alvis quickly zipped his fingers back down to his belly.
Alvis slowed his tickling down until he was lightly fluttering his fingers over the blonde’s tummy.
“Fascinating. It must have been difficult for you to get your abs. And yet you pressed on, and here you are today. This is proof that you are capable of making an impact on your own life that is just as positive as the impacts you have made on everyone else.” Alvis chuckled as he felt Shulk twitch under his hands.
“Ahahahahahahalvihihihihis… thihihihihis isn’t necesary… hehehehehe…” The boy’s laughter had died down to light, adorable giggles, but it didn’t take for him to start laughing again as his calves were suddenly under attack.
“Huhuhuhuhuh?” Shulk had never felt this before. No one had ever gone after that spot before, and truthfully, he didn’t mind what he was feeling right now.
“Your legs are rather strong as well. This was definitely caused by the amount of running that you have done over the years. And they haven’t gotten any weaker, either. You see? You want to keep yourself in good condition. Surely, a person who couldn’t do anything right wouldn’t be able to sustain these muscles.”
Alvis had a grin on his face. He could barely see the other male’s face, but he could still make out a bright red blush. A blush that was brighter than the glowing ball of ether that appeared in the light blue sky above their heads.
“Yohohohohohou dohohohohohon’t hahahahahahave tohohoho dohohoHOHOHO THIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIS!” Shulk’s laughter became heavy when Alvis used one finger on each of his hands to tickle both of his underarms. He squirmed once Alvis found that one spot between his underarm and the top of his rib cage.
“Easy there. If you break free, you might fall off of me and onto the floor. We don’t need to have an imperfectly perfect Homs get hurt now, do we?”
“IHIHIHIHIMPERFEHEHECTLY PERFEHEHEHEHECT?” The visionary questioned through his laughter.
“Yes, imperfectly perfect. Your imperfections make you one of the most loved Homs in this world. I did say that a perfect person can not exist, but what I meant was a person who is capable of doing everything perfectly on the first try. You seem to be one of the only Homs to anywhere close to being a perfect person in terms of who you are. You don’t need to do everything right to be loved by the world and the races residing within it. All you need to do is be yourself.”
Alvis moved up to Shulk’s neck, allowing his laughter to die down enough for him to breathe and speak semi-normally.
“To tehehehehehell me to lohohohove myself? Shulk asked.
“That’s right. In addition to making you flustered, I want to convince you that you are worthy of love, including self-love.”
“Ihihihihi thought yohohohou wahahahahanted ahahahahnswers?” Shulk said as Alvis retracted his hands.
“I believe I have found my answer. My words did get through to you.” Alvis answered as he laid down on his right side and released the younger male from his hold. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah… I’m okay…” Shulk was breathing somewhat heavily as he felt Alvis stroke his hair. He accidentally let out a sound that sounded like a young Nopon who was dragging out his “meh,” his face returning to the bright shade of red from earlier as he realized what he did. Alvis had a look of surprise for a brief second before he regained his calm expression.
“I-I’m sorry, I don’t know what that-“
“Cute.” Alvis cut him off.
“I-I’m sorry?” Shulk was still stammering, but it wasn’t as bad as it was prior to Alvis’s tickle attack.
“I said it was cute. I didn’t even know you could make that noise.” Alvis replied. “And I didn’t even know you could blush this much.” He followed up, noticing Shulk’s blush getting impossibly dark.
“Alvis… That’s enough.” he said.
“Understood.” Alvis responded.
The two of them said nothing as Shulk calmed himself down.
“Feeling better?” Alvis broke the silence.
“Yes… I’m feeling much better now.” Shulk said as he turned to face Alvis, unable to suppress the smile on his face. “Do you still want to know about the Bionis Shoulder?”
“I would love to know about it. I’ve never had the chance to see it after the Bionis fell.”
Shulk and Alvis spent around three hours discussing every little thing about the Bionis Shoulder, and the two of them began to cultivate a plan that would serve to protect the new world from a future attack from the Fog King.
Sleep is for the Ticklish (SSB Edition) (Super Smash Bros Tickle Fic)
A/N: Wow, I did it again! I wrote another fic!
As you might have seen from my list of potential tickle fics, I couldn’t decide on whether or not I wanted to write this concept with Shulk and Cloud, or Shulk, Fiora, and Reyn, so I wrote both of these ideas down on the list. This fic is the SSB version, A.K.A the Shulk and Cloud version.
I provided a link to the list of tickle fic prompts from which this fic was inspired from, but if you haven’t seen the list of potential fics, here’s the link to the prompt list:
For your information, this fic will not contain any sort of romance or NSFW content. This fic is just about a blonde swordsman tickling another blonde swordsman until he comes to bed.
I might have forgotten something here, but I’ll worry about that later. For now, onto the fic.
Update 07-10-22: This fic is now on AO3! Here’s the AO3 Link!
——————————————————————————————————
Cloud approached the door to the lab of the Smash Colosseum. He had just woken up from a deep sleep, and would have returned to bed, if it wasn’t for one thing.
Shulk was likely still in there, working on some sort of device or weapon. Either that, or he was doing research on the other Smash fighters.
Normally, Cloud wouldn’t have a problem with this. Having prior knowledge of a person’s fighting style would give someone an advantage in battle. Not to mention how the addition of a new weapon could enable a person to come up with new, effective strategies.
No, the problem was that Shulk would stay up late. VERY late. Sometimes, he wouldn’t get a wink of sleep at any point during the night. It irritates Cloud quite a bit, but he’s more concerned about Shulk’s health than he is annoyed by the younger blonde’s bad sleeping habits.
Luckily for Cloud, he knew just the thing that would get Shulk to sleep.
The light was still on in the lab, confirming his suspicions. He quietly stepped closer towards the door. He could hear the sound of a page being turned in a book, along with the faint sound of someone breathing.
He carefully grabbed the handle, slowly pushed it down, and opened the door as quietly as he could.
The first thing Cloud saw was Shulk sitting in a chair in front of the large desk that was up against the back wall of the room. He couldn’t see what he was doing, but based on the fact that there was a book in his hand, and a couple of papers on the desk, the mercenary assumed that he was taking notes. He didn’t know what those notes could possibly be, but reading those notes wasn’t his goal.
He carefully crept up behind Shulk and lightly tapped him on the shoulder. The visionary jumped at the sudden touch, then turned around to face the older blonde.
“Cloud?” Shulk asked, not understanding why the other was still awake.
“How long have you been in here?” Cloud responded with his own question.
“Uh… I don’t know.”
Cloud let out a sigh.
“You can’t keep doing this. You may not know what time it is right now, but I do.”
Shulk had a confused look on his face. “What time is it?”
“About 1:46 A.M.” Cloud answered, not surprised by the look of shock that came on the boy’s face in response.
“What?! It’s that late?!”
Cloud shook his head. “Yes.”
“Wait, why are YOU awake right now?”
“Well, I was going to go back to bed, but I realized that you were likely still awake doing work or research. I came to check in on you.”
Shulk suddenly became nervous. “I’m sorry, I’ll go to bed soon.”
Cloud saw right through that statement. If there are two words that could describe Shulk right now, they would be “terrible liar”. The younger male was known for being a truthful person, so if he were to tell a lie, people would instantly catch on to the fact that he’s lying.
Cloud gave him a glare. “That’s a lie. You plan on staying up all night doing research, aren’t you?”
“U-um…” Shulk began to shrink into himself. Clould’s glares scared him, even though there was a hint of affection behind them.
“I see... That’s nothing new. No matter, I know how to get you to go to sleep.”
Shulk shrinked into himself even more.
“H-how?” He stammered out. Cloud’s plan was beginning to show some results.
The older male slowly pulled the heir out of his chair before throwing him onto his shoulder. Unfortunately, there was no bed nearby, so he would have to walk down to his room with Shulk on his shoulder. Good thing that Shulk was rather light.
“W-what are you doing?” Shulk asked quietly as Cloud turned the lights off and walked out of the lab.
“Taking you to my room. You know what I’m going to do to you.” Cloud answered as he closed the door.
Shulk knew what that meant, and began to lightly squirm under Cloud’s arm.
“W-wait, no! Don’t y-you dare do it!”
“Do what?” Cloud quickly switched from a slightly disappointed tone to a teasy one.
“I… Don’t…”
Cloud lightly chuckled at Shulk’s stutters. He still couldn’t say the word, how cute.
His room wasn’t that far from the lab. In fact, it was only that close to the lab because he changed rooms with Ryu in order to keep an eye on Shulk. In no time at all, he was at the door.
He noticed that the younger blonde didn’t protest too much, but he figured that he was trying to stay quiet so as to not wake up another fighter. He quietly opened the door, also being cautious to make sure that no one else woke up, and closed it upon entering.
He nearly threw Shulk down onto his bed and pinned him down.
“W-w-wait! Someone will h-hear us!”
He had a good point. Considering Cloud’s plan to get him to sleep, someone might be awoken by the sound of loud laughter from the other room.
Or that would have been an issue, if all of the rooms didn’t have soundproof force fields that could be activated at any time at the press of a button.
“Not if I soundproof the room.”
Cloud went over to the glowing blue button on the wall and pressed it. The force field activated immediately and silently.
He quickly went back over to the other blonde and pinned him down again.
“That’s better. Now tell me. Will. You. Go. To. Sleep?”
At every word, Cloud gave a gentle poke to a random part of Shulk’s body, earning him a few jerks and twitches.
“Nohohoho. W-waihihit, I meahahan’t…!” The visionary realized his mistake.
“No? Very well then. I guess I’ll have to convince you…”
The mercenary decided to throw off Shulk’s expectations by targeting his knees, lightly tickling both the front and the back of his kneecaps.
“I’m being merciful. If you don’t promise that you will go to bed, I’ll make you suffer.” Cloud’s teasy voice came back towards the end of the second sentence, but it now had a hint of a threatening undertone.
Shulk’s eyes widened at the threat. “Nohohoho! Nohohohoho! Plehehehehese dohohohohon’t!”
“Will you go to bed, then...” Cloud decided to lean down and whisper into the other boy’s ear, “...Brother?”
Shulk nearly lost it as soon as the word “brother” left the other man’s mouth.
“Ohohohokahahahay, Ihihihihi’ll slehehehehehep!”
“Hm…” Cloud gave him a quizzical look. “I don’t believe you.”
Shulk squeaked. “Whihihihihihihihiy?”
“You tried to lie to me earlier in the lab. Why should I trust anything that you have to say now?”
The heir didn’t respond, choosing to remain as silent as he could while he giggled his heart out.
“You’re not going to answer me? Okay then, I guess I need to get serious...”
In a split second, Cloud’s hands darted up to Shulk’s upper body, targeting his rib cage. The move made the other boy shriek, and it broke the laughter dam within him.
“NAHAHAHAHAHAHA! NOHOHOHOHOHOHOHO!”
If the soundproof force field wasn’t on right now, Shulk’s laughter would have woken up both Lucas and Bowser Jr.
“This should be easier now. Are you ready to give up?” Cloud taunted.
A loud screech came out of the blonde as his navel was suddenly being attacked by a single finger that managed to worm its way under his sweater. It nearly interrupted Cloud’s actions.
“Dear Gods, I didn’t know you could make that noise! Surely, you are finally going to admit defeat now, right?” Cloud’s voice was full of amusement as he randomly switched between the giggly blonde’s rib cage, sides, and underarms with his right hand. His left hand never left his stomach.
“YEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHES! IHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHI’LL GOHOHOHOHOHO TOHOHOHO BEHEHEHED!” Shulk had been squirming this whole time, but at this point, he was thrashing.
It didn’t last long, however, as Cloud had decided that he had enough. His hands left his body, and he set Shulk free from his pin.
Cloud watched as Shulk’s chest heaved up and down, giggles and laughs still pouring out of his mouth.
“Too much?” He asked, worried that he went too far.
“N-nohohoho… I think ihihihit was… enough… hehehe…” Shulk struggled to get his words out in between his pants and residual giggles.
He felt the bed shift, and he felt Cloud’s hand on his right side.
“Nohoho more…” He half-whined, half-giggled.
“Don’t worry, it’s over.” The merc’s hand gently rubbed away the tingly sensations, though it solicited a few timid, heart-melting giggles when it moved over the visionary’s belly. These giggles were a typical reaction that Shulk can have when he gets flustered during a particularly tickly belly rub.
“Calm down there, giggles. I’m not trying to tickle you anymore.” Cloud said, booping Shulk’s nose. The action caused the latter’s blush to darken into a shade of red similar to the Monodo’s Smash Art.
“I know… I can’t help it…” His voice gradually went from sounding somewhat sleepy to incredibly sleepy.
“Mission accomplished.” Cloud thought to himself as he saw Shulk close his eyes. He stayed up a bit longer, stroking the other’s hair, before he too succumbed to his exhaustion and fell into a deep sleep, right next to his “brother”.
I feel like continuing on from the post I made about Shulk being reminded to eat by Fiora and Reyn’s tickle attacks.
This time, let’s talk about how he is reminded to take breaks and get to sleep. Spoiler alert, Fiora and Reyn tickle him to get him to do both.
But first, obligatory click or tap on Read More to view the rest of this post.
When it comes to taking breaks, Shulk doesn’t seem to know what the phrase “take a break” means. He says that he’ll take a break soon upon being asked, but he’ll either forget to take a break, or he’ll lie about taking a break.
Interestingly enough, the lies once worked on Fiora, Reyn, and even Dunban. However, it didn’t take long for them to find out the truth.
As payback for lying to them, Fiora and Reyn would tickle Shulk regularly during the daily check-ins they have with him.
They will either wait until they know for sure that it is time for him to take a break, or they will immediately tickle him if he tries to lie about taking a break.
Just like with eating, Shulk begins to notice a pattern, and he uses it as a reminder for him to relax for a bit.
Side note, Fiora and Reyn will not tickle Shulk if he is currently building a weapon. If he’s just reading the blueprints, they will tickle him, but if he is, for example, attaching the sharp portion of a sword to a base, then Fiora and Reyn will leave him alone. They don’t want Shulk to overwork himself, but they don’t want him to injure himself while he works, either.
As for sleeping, Shulk also appears to not understand what “going to sleep” means. And once again, Shulk will try to lie about heading off to bed, when in fact, he’s going to keep working.
So Fiora and Reyn have to tickle him to get him to sleep, too. At this point, Fiora and Reyn are even more concerned about Shulk than they were before, as they realized that they had to tickle him for three different reasons at the same time everyday.
Luckily, their worries slowly begin to fade away, as Shulk once again picks up on a pattern, and uses it to remind himself to go to bed.
Overall, tickling has managed to improve Shulk’s self-care tendencies significantly. As I said before, Shulk does feel a little sad about losing these daily tickle-attacks, but that doesn’t matter. He’ll get tickled everyday anyway, regardless of the reason for the attacks.
Curiosity Tickled the Cat (Super Smash Bros. Tickle Fic)
A/N: I know I might be called “cringy” for doing this, but I’m doing it. I’m posting a fic a Lee!Shulk, but with a twist.
In this fic, Shulk is going to be part cat. In my headcanons, this means that he will be a normal person (or rather Hom), but he’ll have cat ears and a cat tail, and will exhibit some cat-like behavior. Other than that, he isn’t any different from his normal self.
You likely know the drill about romance and NSFW, so I’m not going to include those messages here.
Finally, I should let all of you know ahead of time that this is my first attempt at writing a fic like this (not a tickle fic, but a fic with a character that is part cat). I’m likely going to make some mistakes in my portrayal of cat Shulk, so I hope you can forgive me for that.
Neither Cloud nor Shulk had any idea as to how they got into this situation.
For some reason that was never explained by Master Hand or Crazy Hand, the latter of the two hands decided to use his infinite power to transform some of the fighters into animal/Pokemon hybrids (only Red and Leaf got the latter). Cloud didn’t know who got turned into what hybrid other than Shulk, and to be honest, he’d rather not know.
Shulk was unfortunate enough to get caught up in the mess, and he was turned into a cat hybrid. As soon as he saw his tail and ears, he ran from the crowd that was in the middle of the Smash Colosseum, fearful of the humiliation that would've followed had anyone seen him. He ran into his room to hide, and not even two minutes later, he heard a knock on his door. Trembling as he opened the door, he found his “brother” on the other side of the door. The two of them stood in shock for thirty seconds before Cloud broke the silence.
“Shulk? What the hell happened to you?”
Shulk nearly ran out of the room in shame, but he knew that the merc wouldn’t insult or judge him for something that he didn’t have a say in, so he explained what happened.
“I see… Did Crazy Hand tell any of you guys why?”
“Nope. He didn’t even try to explain anything to us.”
“What about Master Hand?”
“He couldn’t even begin to explain Crazy Hand’s actions.”
“Hm… Well, this is an awkward situation…”
“I know…”
The older blonde noticed the apologetic look in the younger’s eyes.
“You alright?”
“Not really… I’m-“
“You don’t have to apologize.”
Shulk’s eyes widened slightly in surprise. Was he really that easy to read?
“But I- I just- I know that you don’t like cats, so-“
“I never said that I disliked cats.”
“But you never said that you liked them, either…”
“True.” Cloud admitted, “I’m kind of… neutral towards them, to be honest.”
Shulk’s cat ears twitched in curiosity, causing him to blush as he asked his next question, “So you don’t like them… but you don’t hate them, either, right?”
“Yes.”
“Oh…” Shulk pondered Cloud’s answer for a bit, then felt his ears and tail droop as a sudden feeling of sadness came over him, “…does that mean that you’re indifferent towards me at the moment?”
“No. I’m just saying that I don’t care if you’re part cat or not, it’s not going to change my view on you.”
“O-oh!” He knew that statement was coming, but nonetheless, he still couldn’t help but blush again. The blush darkened as he felt his ears and tail shoot straight up.
Cloud couldn’t help but laugh a little when he saw that, realizing that he was enjoying this more than he initially thought he did.
“You’re rather expressive as a cat, huh?”
“No, I’m not!” Shulk felt his ears twitch a little, and his blush grew even darker as a result.
“You definitely are.” The older male took a few steps towards him before he spoke again. “Hm… how would you react if I did this?” He reached his hands out and scratched behind the heir’s cat ears.
“Wh-wait, what are y-you-“ The younger male was cut off by his sudden urge to purr, and he tried his best to fight it. Unsurprisingly, he failed, letting out a quiet, happy-sounding “mrrrrr”.
“So you can purr...” Cloud observed, concealing the fact that the purrs were melting his heart, “Now what would happen if I scratched behind your actual ears?”
He slowly moved his hands down to the back of Shulk’s Hom ears, which resulted in a shudder.
“You alright?”
“Yeah, I’m fine, that just… felt good, I guess?”
“I’m not surprised.” Cloud began to scratch behind his “brother’s” normal ears. “You like it when someone massages your scalp or neck.” He was about to follow up with a complement, but a light snicker tumbled out in between Shulk’s purrs.
“Oh? Is the cat a bit ticklish~?” The merc allowed himself to slip into his tickle monster persona, chuckling at the fear that flashed in the eyes of his soon-to-be victim.
“No! No, I-I’m not! Can you even tickle a c-cat?”
“You sure can, but they can’t laugh. However…” Cloud wore a sinister grin as he pushed Shulk onto the bed behind them and pinned him down by his wrists. “That only applies to normal cats, not cat-Hom hybrids. How unfortunate for you~!”
“Nonononono! Brother, don’t!”
“But I want to know if you’re a ticklish little kitten!” Cloud nearly let out an uncharacteristic whine as he teased the younger blonde.
“I’m not a kitten, and I’m not ticklish as a cat hybrid!”
“Is that so? Very well then, I guess you wouldn’t mind if I did… this!” The older blonde scratched at Shulk’s cat ears again, but this time, it was far less relaxing and far more tickly. The noise that came out of the poor hybrid was a mix between a purr and a giggle.
“Mrrrrhehehehehehe, no! Nohohohohohohoho! Clohohohohohohohohould!” “Huh, would you look at that!” Cloud leaned in a bit before he delivered his next tease, “Someone lied to me~”
Cloud’s grin grew at the apology. “Apology not accepted~ You know you shouldn’t have lied to me, and yet you did it anyway.” He sped up the tickling a bit as soon as his hands landed on his sides, clearly trying to use those tickles as a threat. “Am I going to have to punish you for lying~?”
Shulk let out a series of mewls that mixed in with his giggles, “Wahahah-wahahahahahait, thihihihihis ihihihisn’t thehehehe punihihihistmehehehnt?”
“No, but if you want, I can punish you right now. Is that what you want~?”
“Nahahahahahahahahawo!” Shulk’s protest came out as a mix of a whine, a meow, and a laugh. He started kicking when Cloud’s fingers moved a little too close to his stomach.
“Hey, hey! What are you doing?!” Cloud slowed his tickling down to a stop and returned to his normal personality, confused as to why Shulk’s reaction was so violent. Sure, he tried to kick his way out of the merc’s tickly hands on multiple occasions, but right now? It seemed as though something was different. Very different.
“Is he somehow more ticklish than before?” Cloud found it hard to believe. Shulk was already ticklish enough to the point where he would start squirming and giggling as soon as someone got their hands on him. They didn’t even have to tickle him if they wanted to. They could just leave their hand there!
Cloud loved to take advantage of this, and would often place his hand on Shulk’s stomach just so he could hear him laugh.
“Wait, his stomach… That could answer my question… or rather, two questions.”
“B-brohohotheher?” Despite the fact that Cloud had stopped tickling him, the scientist had a few giggles left in his system.
The merc didn’t say anything and instead glanced down at Shulk’s belly.
“Whahahat are you looking at?”
Shulk followed Cloud’s eyes, and all of the giggling ceased.
“Wait, Cloud, don’t!”
“Hm? I’m not doing anything, am I?” Cloud briefly looked up at Shulk’s face before his vision went back down to the younger man’s stomach.
“K-kind of! Why are you l-looking at my stomach like that?”
Cloud felt a tinge of embarrassment and tore his eyes away from the Hom’s weak spot, “I want to ask you something.”
“Y-yes?” Shulk did not like where this was going, but decided to hear his “brother” out anyway.
“Someone in my homeworld told me that cats dislike belly rubs, but they never told me why. I think this might be my chance to find the reason.”
Shulk’s typical whimper was replaced with a pitiful-sounding meow, which only riled him up more. “B-brother, please don’t…”
“Hey, try to relax, okay? It may not apply to you, but neither of us will know the answer until we test it. Wouldn’t you do the same if I was a cat hybrid?”
The heir tried to respond, but his words got stuck in his throat.
“I’ll be gentle, I promise. If you get overwhelmed, tell me to stop, okay?”
“O-okay…” Even with the promise of mercy, Shulk still felt nervous. And he had every right to be, because as soon as Cloud’s hands made contact with his belly, he broke down in laughter and started kicking again.
“But I haven’t done anything yet!” Amidst the loud laughter that poured out of Shulk, Cloud told himself, “I think I found the answer to my questions”, as the younger male’s laughter got louder and louder.
But he still had to prove to himself that his hypothesis was correct, as Shulk would say, so he wiggled his fingers on the skin above Shulk’s navel. The action produced a small shrill that made Cloud recoil in surprise.
“Shit, did I hurt you?!”
“Sohohohorry, I-I couldn’t help it! It t-tihihihickled so bad!”
Cloud nodded in understanding, “Ah, I see… So I was right…”
A faint glimmer of innocence shone in Shulk’s eyes as he calmed down and tilted his head in curiosity. “Right? Right about what?”
Seeing the glimmer in his “brother’s” eyes made Cloud’s brain malfunction for a split second, but luckily, he was able to regain his composure before the heir noticed.
“I’ll explain later. For now…” Cloud allowed his voice go lower as he slowly transitioned back into his role as the ler, “I think a certain kitty is looking for belly rubs~”
The younger male accidentally let out a meow that sounded a bit too excited for his liking, and he hit Cloud’s arm with his tail repeatedly when his “brother’s” hands touched his tummy.
“What’s the matter? Why are you hitting me with your tail, hm~?”
Shulk’s answer came out in between giggles, “I’m sohohohohorry! Ihihihihihihi can’t hehehehehehelp it!”
Cloud put on a sinister smile, “I know, you’re just nervous.” He laughed at the blush that formed on Shulk’s face before he continued, “Either that, or you are showing affection. I’m not sure which assumption is the right one, but I’m thinking that it might be a combination of both~”
Shit, he had said too much. Cloud avoided the question by gently rubbing Shulk’s stomach with one hand and lightly scratching at the sensitive skin with the other. The poor Hom fell into hysterics almost instantly, letting out a loud screech before he burst into laughter.
“Because you’re such a ticklish kitten~!” Cloud changed tactics as he used both hands to scratch at Shulk’s belly, “I hope you can handle this for a bit longer, because there’s something that I want to test out real quick.”
Almost as soon as his second hand started scratching, both of them were being pulled away, and just as he expected, Shulk put his arms up in the air.
Cloud fell into a laughing fit of his own as he replayed the short scene in his mind, “Yehehehehp, you’re ahahahaha cat hybrid alrihihihihihihight!”.
“Hohohohohohohohohohohohohow?” The younger boy asked, still feeling the tingles that radiated through his core.
Cloud struggled to maintain composure as he spoke, “You put your arms up lihihike a kitten when I pulled my hands away!”
Before Shulk could respond to that, Cloud resumed his attack on his stomach. “AHAHAHAHAHAHAH NOHOHOHOHOHO! NOHOHOHOHOHOT AHAHAHAHAHGAHAHAHAHIN!”
Just like before, Cloud quickly stopped, and Shulk put his arms up again. This was repeated several times until the older male switched tactics again and blew a raspberry onto the scientist’s belly. The only sound that followed was a loud scream that sounded like a cat screaming in fear.
Shulk never told him to stop, but at this point, Cloud knew that he couldn’t take another minute of tickling, so he ceased the raspberries and sat up, ending the tickles for good. Meanwhile, Shulk struggled to regain control of his laughter, his breathing, and his twitchy ears and tail.
“You alright?” Cloud asked, voice full of concern.
“Yeah… I’m fine. A bit… overwhelmed, but I’ll be… okay.” Shulk replied in between his heavy breaths as he sat up. “Can I… ask you some questions?”
“Sure, go ahead.”
Shulk waited until he had caught his breath to shift over to the older blonde and rest his head on his uncovered shoulder, “Okay, first, what happened to you being nice to me?” He asked, a slight pout forming on his face.
Cloud couldn’t help but laugh at the pout, “I suppose I got a little carried away with the tickling. Sorry about that.”
“A little is an understatement, but don’t worry about it. I forgive you.” The heir wrapped his tail around Cloud’s arm. “Second, do you know why that tickled so badly?”
“Not sure, but I think it has something to do with your increased sensitivity to tickling.”
“Wait, are you serious?! I’m somehow more ticklish than before?!”
“I think so, and if that’s the case, your increased sensitivity might have something to do with you being a cat hybrid.”
“How?” Shulk lifted his head off of Cloud’s shoulder so he could tilt it again, “How does being a cat hybrid affect my ticklishness?”
“Cats are more sensitive to touch than humans are, but I don’t know how sensitive they are on certain parts of their bodies.” Cloud gave the younger male a quick tickle under his chin, earning himself a light giggle, “I wouldn’t be able to tell you whether or not a cat is more ticklish on its chin or its stomach, for example. What I can tell you is that cats will react to your touch if you tickle them. Like I told you earlier, they can’t laugh, but they can react to tickling in other ways. Some might purr, and some will try to scratch your hand. There’s more to it than that, but I think you get the idea.”
“Oh, that’s really interesting! And a good way to transition to my last question…” The sparkle of excitement that once lit up Shulk’s eyes gave way to a mischievous glint.
Seeing that look in the “brother’s” eyes, Cloud tensed up, trying to disguise the nervousness that had begun to take root in his mind, “And that is…?”
“Why do you know so much about cats? I thought you were neutral towards them.”
“Well, I kind of implied it earlier, but someone taught me a few things about them.”
“But why would you need all of that information?”
“Uh…” The merc was dangerously close to having his secret revealed, and that made his face turn bright red from shame. However, as much as he wanted to lie again to protect himself from further embarrassment, he knew that the heir wouldn’t judge him, so he told him the truth. “I… wanted to get closer to some of the cats in my homeworld…”
He heard Shulk giggle, and he was afraid that he had humiliated himself. He was only slightly relieved when he heard his response, “You’re such a hypocrite.”
“What?”
“You punished me for lying about my ticklishness, and yet here you are, lying about your feelings towards cats. That’s not fair!” Shulk said with a whine and another pout.
The shame disappeared as Cloud chuckled, but he couldn’t respond to the scientist’s statement in time before something poked his ribs. He quickly realized that it was Shulk’s tail.
“What are you doing?” Cloud questioned the other, trying and failing to grab the fluffy appendage.
“Oh nothing~ I’m just thinking of something.” Shulk said playfully, a tone that Cloud knew to be dangerous.
“And what is that something, if I may ask?”
Never had he regretted a question so fast. In no time, Shulk pushed him onto his back and went to town, tickling his underarms with his hands and his ribs with his tail.
“Revenge~” Shulk said menacingly, letting out a pleased hum as Cloud fell deeper and deeper into hysterics.
For the next several minutes, the cat hybrid tickled his “brother” until the older blonde fought back and initiated a tickle fight. By the end of the fight, they were exhausted (especially Shulk, since he lost the tickle fight), and as they recovered from their intense laughter, Shulk thought to himself, “Maybe being a cat hybrid isn’t so bad…”
I did a round of 8-player Smash yesterday, and it made me think of something.
For context, I played a round with 7 level 3 CPUs, and I was playing as Shulk in his swimwear. The opponents I chose were Falco, Pit, Dark Pit, Palutena, Duck Hunt (or Duck Hunt Duo, if you are playing the PAL version of the game), Banjo & Kazooie, and Sephiroth.
Notice a pattern with the CPUs? If not, then I’ll tell you: all of those CPU fighters have feathers on them (except for Palutena and Banjo, but I count Palutena’s Goddess Wings as a source of feathers. Banjo has Kazooie with him, so I’m going to count him, too).
And because of this match, I thought about a scenario involving lee!Shulk.
On the rare occasions where all of the above fighters are in a ler mood and agree to team up and fight in a Team Battle, they usually choose Shulk as their opponent. They make it so he has to fight in his swimwear, and if he loses… well, we all know what will happen to him. If he wins, then they will leave him alone.
Unfortunately for Shulk, he tends to lose these Team Battles 99% of the time. It’s a miracle that he’s still alive after those battles.
“Hmph. You’re being rather stubborn today.” Cloud said with a huff as he tickled Shulk’s sides.
He wasn’t wrong. Shulk was being unusually stubborn today. He came into their shared room with an angry look on his face, and when Cloud asked him if he was okay, he didn’t answer. Instead, he turned to face the wall behind him.
The merc made several attempts to coax the heir into talking, but all of his attempts failed. He eventually told him, “If you don’t tell me what’s wrong, I’m going to tickle you.”
Shulk had the audacity to tell him, “Do what you want. I’m not going to talk,” and this is what pushed Cloud over the edge.
Now, the younger blonde was pinned against the wall, struggling to hold in his laughter as the older blonde scritched his sides.
“I-I-I’m noHOT-“
“You’re not what?” Cloud said, smirking as Shulk let out a small shriek. He slowed his tickling down until he was lightly tracing shapes into his sides.
“I’m n-not surrendering.”
“Fine by me. I’ll just keep going until you feel like talking.”
The tickling returned to its previous speed without warning, and the shock nearly broke the helpless lee.
“NO! Noho! I-I won’t tahahlk!”
Cloud closed his eyes and let out a short sigh before he opened them again.
“Suit yourself.”
He slowly walked his fingers up the other male’s sides until they reached the bottom of his ribcage.
“H-hey! Hands ohohoff!”
The older male decided to tease him, “My hands are not on your skin, brother. Only my fingers are.”
Shulk bit down on his lower lip in an attempt to control his sudden urge to laugh at that statement.
“Nohohot f-fair! You c-cahan’t do that!”
“He’s breaking… Slowly but surely, he’s breaking.” Cloud told himself as he lightly dug into the crevasses between his victim’s ribs.
“Can’t do what?”
“B-behehehe a smahahahrtahaHAHAHAHAH!” The younger blonde was cut off by his own laughter as he felt his “brother’s” fingers on his belly.
“Got him!” Cloud thought to himself, feeling a surge of pride.
“No cussing, brother.” He said, tsking at Shulk.
The younger male bit down on his lip again, only to break down into laughter a second later.
The merc heard him loud and clear, but decided to pretend that he didn’t.
Shulk’s knees buckled under him as he succumbed to a particularly intense fit of laughter. Cloud caught him before he fell, but instead of pulling him back up into his original position, he pinned him onto the floor. His fingers scribbled all over the poor Hom’s stomach the entire time.
That sparked some confusion in Cloud’s mind. Why was Shulk being so difficult? Surely, he would have surrendered by now.
But then he thought about it some more, and realized that his “brother” wanted this. If there was one thing that could cheer up a grump Shulk, it was tickles. Of course, he had a hard time asking for anyone to tickle him, so he would give subtle hints to anyone who was looking.
There didn’t seem to be any hints this time around, but the older blonde could still tell that that is what he wanted. The evidence was in his eyes, though it was hard to detect that slight tinge of happiness when he kept closing his eyes every time he laughed.
Cloud didn’t notice that his mind had wandered off until Shulk’s pleas pulled him back into reality.
The older male let out a small laugh and pulled his hands away from the younger’s stomach.
He waited until Shulk’s breathing returned to normal before he asked him, “So, what’s the matter?”
The scientist sat up before he answered him, “I’m trying to create a new Replica Monado.”
Cloud’s eyes widened slightly in surprise. “Really?”
“Yep. I call it the Monado Replica EX, or the Monado REX for short. And, well… I’m having a hard time with it.”
“Do you know what the issue is?”
Shulk nodded, “I want to replicate the Monado Arts with this replica, but I can’t figure out how to get Monado Cyclone to work with it.”
The merc immediately understood his frustration. He hadn’t seen all of the Monado Arts the heir could use with the Monado, but he could tell that they would be hard to implement into an artificial replica of the blade.
“I know you can’t really do anything to help, but… Well, I was going to say that I wanted to let you know, but you kind of forced it out of me.” Shulk finished the statement with a laugh.
“You wouldn’t tell me what was wrong, even when I threatened you with tickles. What else was I supposed to do?”
“Yeah, I guess I deserved it after that… Sorry, brother.”
Cloud ruffled his hair, earning himself a fit of shy giggles from his “brother”, “You don’t need to be sorry. I could tell that you were in need of some tickles.”
Shulk’s face turned red at Cloud’s sentence. He brought his hands up to hide his blush.
“What’s wrong? Can’t handle the truth?” The older blonde said, waiting until the younger blonde peeked through his fingers to wiggle his fingers at him.
“S-stop that!” Shulk whined, peeking through his fingers once more.
“Stop what? Stop this?” Cloud wiggled his fingers again. “Alright then! I guess you’re ready for round two!”
A/N: This was meant to be a drabble, but apparently, drabbles are exactly 100 words long… This fic is not 100 words long. At all. Whoops.
Oh well, I should have known that I was going to write nearly 1000 words (counting this Author’s Note). I mean, come on, this is a lee!Shulk fic. I should have seen that coming.
I think you know the drill about romance and NSFW around here, so I’m not going to write it out here. If you don’t understand the NSFW part, look at my blog description and pinned post. As for the romance part… I’ll be honest, I don’t know how to write anything that is romantic in nature.
I suppose that’s it for now, so on to the first.. short story? Short short story? Whatever you want to call it, it’s a fic nonetheless!
It took all of her willpower to not giggle as she opened the door to Shulk’s room and snuck up on the sleeping Hom.
Normally, Fiora wouldn’t bother him while he was asleep. He was long overdue for a good night’s rest after everything that had happened in the old world, the world of Zanza. However, it was currently 8:00 in the morning, and he was still sleeping. She had to wake him up.
“Everyone’s wondering where he is, and if I don’t wake him up now, he might sleep through the whole day.”
Was that an exaggeration? Maybe.
She slowly lifted the blanket off of the former heir, revealing his shirtless form. He usually kept a shirt on at all times, but right now, it was the middle of summer, so he took it off every night when he went to bed.
“Perfect.” She couldn’t help the quiet giggle that emerged from deep within her chest, “His worst spots are wide open…”
She waited a bit to make sure that the younger blonde was still asleep, then crept her fingers towards his sides. As soon as they made contact with his skin, she slowly wiggled them.
Nothing. There was no reaction whatsoever… for two whole seconds.
“Is he dreaming, or is he feeling the tickles?” Her question was answered by a quiet, “Mmmhehehe…” from Shulk.
“He’s feeling the tickles!” She dragged her fingers up and down his sides, relishing in the sleepy giggles that poured out his mouth.
Eventually, she drifted her hands up to his ribcage, carefully tickling the skin that resided in the crevasses between his ribs. The resulting giggles were a bit louder than the previous ones, and he even tried to bat at her hands.
“Hehehehehehe… Ahahahahahalvihihihis…”
“Alvis?” Apparently, Shulk was dreaming about him.
“What’s going on in his head right now?” Fiora asked herself.
She was curious about the dream, but she had a goal, and she was not going to distract herself from it.
She gave him a quick scribble to the underarms, which made him squirm in response.
“Almost there…” she thought to herself as she rolled him onto his back. She was ready to go for the kill, but she wanted to make one last attempt at waking him up before she made her move.
“Shuuulk…” She whispered with a sing-song tone. She leaned down towards his face before she spoke again. “It’s time to wake uuuup~”
All she heard was a quiet, “Mmm…”.
“Come on… You need to get up!” She gently shook him, but his eyes didn’t open.
“Okay then, you asked for this~!” Time for the kill!
Fiora moved her head down to the scientist’s bare stomach, then took a deep breath. Using her hands to hold him down, she blew the biggest raspberry onto his belly.
His eyes shot open for a split second before he closed them again and fell into hysterics.
“I’m not Alvis, silly~!” Fiora said before she blew another raspberry.
“F-FIHIHIHIHIHIOHOHOHOHORAHAHAHAHAHAHA?” That was the only thing Shulk was able to say before he fell into another laughing fit.
It didn’t last long, however, as the former Mechon pulled herself away from the giggling boy.
“Good morning, sleepyhead~!” She teased, poking his belly button. “Sleep well?”
He let out a squeak and shot his legs up to protect his torso.
“Well, I was sleeping well… until you tickled me awake!” He finished the sentence with a slight pout on his face.
“Sorry~ If I didn’t do anything, you would have slept all morning!”
“Huh?” Shulk looked outside, but he couldn’t tell what time it was based on the position of the sun. “What time is it?”
“It’s nearly 8:15 in the morning!” Fiora told him as she went to find his shirt.
He nearly jumped in shock, “What?! Are you serious?!”
She nodded and handed him his sweater, “I am! Everyone’s been looking for you for the past hour!”
“Oh… sorry…” he said as he rose from the bed and put his sweater on.
“Don’t be. We know you’ve been super tired since the day Zanza fell. You deserve a good rest after everything that happened.” Fiora told him with a smile. Shulk reciprocated her smile with one of his own.
“I guess you’re right…”
He then looked towards the floor with a slight blush on his face, “But still, I’m sorry for sleeping in…”
His friend let out a giggle, “Didn’t I just tell you to not worry about it?” She then brought her hands up into the former heir’s line of sight, “Do I have to tickle you again~?”
She saw him stagger backwards, “N-no, no you don’t!”
“Aw~ That’s too bad…” She put her arms down to her sides. “Can you at least tell me about your dream?”
“Huh? My dream?”
“Yeah, your dream! I heard you say something about Alvis. What were you dreaming about, Shulk~?”
He blushed in response, knowing that if he told her, she’ll tickle him all over again.
