you knew you were pushing it.
when would you learn that your actions had consequences?
the thrill running through you, however, when that sardonic remark left your lips ignited such a reaction, was lengths worth what you knew was coming next.
you sat in anticipation with bated breath, your heart ricocheting as their knuckles cracked.
that look in their eyes screaming at you that there were mere seconds before your total and mass destruction…
one step closer from them and you bolted, taking off, wanting to delay the inevitable for as long as you could.
unlucky for you, they were hot on your trail and you were quite the easy catch.
you squirmed and wriggled, but in no way shape or form capable of preventing them dragging you away, throwing you to the bed and tackling you in place, holding you down by their weight.
their hands were soft at first, teasing. delicate touches that made goosebumps rise on your skin. then deeper, more pressure from the pads of their fingers.
giggles poured out of you, like someone popping open a bottle of champagne. faster they went, jumping from spot to spot, and the more your giggles melded into squeals of laughter, helpless and airy.
your ribs, stomach, sides, armpits, neck, legs, thighs, feet were targeted. no spot left untouched.
the harder you laughed the weaker you felt, the less fight you had in you. you had no choice but to succumb to the ticklish torment. to lay there and take it.
you learned to submit at early age. to refrain from giving pushback, scared to argue and terrified that your love and support would be revoked if you did.
so now as an adult, you find someone you can push boundaries with, without crossing them, and without them being conditional— but punish you they did. you weren’t going to get away with racking up those snarky comments. those teasing words you love to let loose at them. knowing you wouldn’t get discarded by them, only reprimanded, and not through yelling, or silence, but through touch. through affection. through something that says, i still love you, but stop fucking around and finding out. i still love you.
