My Solo Leveling LGBT+ ship in imaginary world

If I had to summarize all the LGBT+ ships I have tucked away in the back of my mind, I would say:

Sung Jinwoo x Yoo Jinho (my favory💕)

Han Song-yi x Sung Jin-Ah

Baek Yoonho x Choi Jongin

Woo Jinchul x Kang Taeshik (with Jinchul in top, a law enforcement officer must "correct" such a criminal)

Lim Tae-Gyu x Lee Minsung of Ragnarok (I can easily imagine a world where Lim Tae-Gyu stops Minsung before he gets killed, decides to prevent him from continuing his evil deeds by training him to become a "good boy/obedient boy".

Hwang Dongsoo x Hwang Dongsuk (Yes, I know it's strange myself. But they really do get along well. So I've imagined a world where Hwang Dongsuk doesn't die but can't return to Korea and has to hide. His younger brother, Hwang Dongsoo, obviously helps him, but since he's taking huge risks, he demands compensation or a token of good faith, like total obedience, which "gradually turns" into physical favors to unconsciously satisfy his old complex about his older brother but also to satisfy his frustration with her behavior, which is quite arrogant even for him. Or Another perfectly healthy relationship where Dongsuk is sent abroad by his brother; they quarrel, bicker, reconcile, commit mischief together (of course), and become even closer than they already were now that there's no longer any geographical distance between them. Their relationship becomes so intense that it's also quite ambiguous. *And yes, I know it's incestuous, but is it really that bad? Incest between people of the same gender has always sounded better and lacks the guilt associated with heterosexual relationships. I've seen that I'm far from alone in thinking this.)

Lee Joohee x Cha Hae-In

Cha Hae-In x Yoo Soohyun (Initially rivals, only Hae-In's opinion, they become friends and then lovers after getting to know each other after Hae-In accepts that Jinwoo only has eyes for Jinho.)

Lee Joohee x Yoo Soohyun

Yoo Soohyun x Lee Joohee x Cha Hae-In (Yes, a three-way relationship. I really envision a good dynamic between them; I don't want to leave any of them alone—that's my solution.)

Beru x Igris

Beru x Igris x Bellion (Bellion would be the port between the two, the one who maintains harmony to avoid unnecessary romantic quarrels. Furthermore, as the more experienced one, he would be like the older-brother-boyfriend.)

Lim Taegyu is always a mixed bag for me in terms of whether I like him or not. I think he's a very interesting character that is underrated. His hat is so stupid though, I'm sorry if you like it, this is just me personally hating on it. The manhwa one, the Arise one looks decent. His cape looks cool though. Not sure how he shoots an arrow wearing that, but hey, I can't judge him when I like Mr. Red-and-Gold over here

I liked his glow up in Ragnarok. I'm personally not a fan of the Ragnarok art style (it's not that consistent and sometimes completely differs from the original, the version that is dear to me so I take physical damage when it disappears), but Taegyu with long hair is such a great decision. Whoever made that choice deserves a raise. I do think that he only grew it out because he was depressed, but shoving that aside, it looks nice :)

In terms of personality, I think he had quite an influence on Eunseok and Byungyu (nicknaming them "cozy bros" for my convenience. It's because of Eunseok's scarf and Byungyu's hood if that wasn't clear). In a "bad" way. Taegyu is the reason why the cozy bros like teasing everyone and why do mischievous stunts somtimes. Nothing too big, just harmless stuff, like bets on when ChoiBaek get together or stealing Taegyu's hat during meetings. Yoonho was very unhappy with this change but likes it when he's not on the receiving end

I think Jongin awakening is when Taegyu met his match. I think they're on the same level in terms of teasing, but Jongin knows more information that he can use to throw Taegyu off his game. They have great fun. Yoonho wants Taegyu to stop taunting his rival, that's his job. I think Taegyu and Jongin do archery together sometimes. I think Jongin used to do archery as a sport. He's a better shot than Taegyu, but Taegyu is faster. Everyone thinks it's ironic the mage can shoot better than the ranger

Have I mentioned my Lim Taegyu x Lee Minsung ship yet? I call them ShootingStar :3 I think Taegyu is the only one to both have enough patience to deal with Minsung's spoiled nature (based off Ragnarok) and can handle Minsung's arrogance with witty remarks. I think Minsung fell for him first with a mix of jealously and admiration for Taegyu's hard work while Taegyu fell for him later when Minsung actually put in the work in Taegyu's guild after all the times Taegyu has had to deal with Minsung's rumors. I do think Minsung is smart, but he relies on his luck more than his smarts and gets jealous easily. Taegyu, on the other hand, always gets dealt an unlucky hand but excels through his own hard work. Anyone else see the parallels? I'm not crazy-

Solo Leveling Season 2 - Arise From The Shadows- Episode 10 Review - Let The Raid Mission Commence!

To be honest, if you’re going to introduce this many characters, at least put a text box on who is who because it’s hard to keep up! I get that they do announce the characters and the cast list on social media, but what about the people who don’t have an account? How will they know who is who? On top of that, the localized Japanese version of the anime gives the Japanese hunter different names, so it’s a hassle for me to look up their actual names on the Solo Leveling wiki.

The training session with the Korean and Japanese hunters was nice to see, but it’s mainly to show off some of their abilities. But like, I can sort of figure out that most of them are probably going to die and that the story wants to make it seem like the Korean S-rank Hunters are weak, but they’re probably the ones surviving the whole ordeal. The main highlight is the Jinwoo vs Goto sparring match. While the condition is that they both go all out, Goto actually does leave a cut on Jinwoo’s face, showing off his power. However, it does seem like Jinwoo was holding back, but correct me if I’m wrong. I wonder what sort of fighting they’ll show from the Japanese hunters later on.

I honestly liked that the 4th Jeju Raid Mission is gathering up all the hunters that Jinwoo previously worked with like Lee Joohee and Song Chiyul from Season 1, Go Myung-hwan and Park Heejin from the Red Gate arc, and the Strike Team from the A-Rank Dungeon arc. As an anime-only, I can tell that it’s a serious feat when everyone gathers for a big fight. It’s perfect for the climax of the second season!

However, Jinwoo doesn’t participate in the raid mission as he wants to focus on his family. People might criticize Jinwoo and the writer for this, but Jinwoo is not some American superhero with the “great power comes great responsibility” thing. His first and top priority has always been his family. Also, with his actions ever since obtaining the system, he had been questioning his humanity, so needing to be with his family is also his need of affirmation about it.

Also, the ants make me feel like the author was aspired by Hunter x Hunter’s Chimera Ant arc. I mean, there’s an Ant Queen and she gives birth to a humanoid Ant King who is probably the biggest threat to the Hunters. I just hope the creators of Solo Leveling aren’t being flagged for plagiarism because of this…

Okay, I looked at the voice cast for all the Japanese hunters shown in this episode and it’s a pretty crazy cast. I mentioned Goto and Hanekawa in a previous review, so I’ll skip them. The four that participating in the sparring match: Kenzo, Kanae, Minoru and Atsushi are voiced by Tomoaki Maeno (Hak from Yona of the Dawn), Yui Ishikawa (Mikasa Ackerman from Attack on Titan), Jun Kasama (Aran Ojiro from Haikyuu) and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Inosuke from Demon Slayer) respectively. The ice mage with the gas mask, Kei, is voiced by Tetsuya Kakihara (Natsu Dragneel from Fairy Tail) and the hooded man, Ippei, is voiced by Kent Ito (Goro from Oshi no Ko). Tatsumi, the glasses guy with Kenzo, is voiced by Chiharu Sawashiro who is known as Miyuki Sawashiro’s younger brother. Akari, the girl with the buns, is voiced by Nene Hieda, whom I am not too familiar with. Reiji, the man with the brown hair and the vice leader of the Japanese hunters is voiced by Yuya Uchida (Naoshi Usui from My Happy Marriage). The Ant Queen also got a well-known voice actress as Noriko Hidaka (Akane Tendo from Ranma 1/2). A lot of these characters have such big-named voice actors and the fact that they were casted for such minor roles means that Solo Leveling is obviously a big deal in terms of popularity. Like, would the production staff go out of their way to cast like seven big names if this anime wasn’t so popular?

Fun fact: this episode aired on March 8, which is Sung Jinwoo’s birthday! Also a crazy way to end an episode on the MC’s birthday by having the episode end on that bloody cliffhanger. I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen! Let me know your thoughts about this episode!

Woo Jin-Cheol continued to glare at Rhee Min-Seong and quietly spoke. “…..Do you think you can handle the fallout instead, Mister Rhee Min-Seong?”
