How Gotham Characters Would Act with a Trans Friend/Relative/Partner/Lover Part 2
<-last part (1) /AO3
Characters: Lee Thompkins, Nathaniel Barnes, Edward Nygma Warnings: mention of violent defense of reader (Lee)
Author's note: @transgothamweek Just when I was afraid I'd miss this event, I made multiple parts ๐ฎ๐ ***
Lee Thompkins knew about trans people from her studies and some of the things she heard in Arkham. She reminds you to see the bright side of things, that you have a unique perspective. We know that Lee dislikes stereotypes, so I'd say she'd be great at not expecting you to look or behave a certain way.
Is also fiercely protective of you if she needs to be. Slapping aggressive people kinda protective.
Nathaniel Barnes is an ally despite what some fanfictions said. As long as you're not stealing clothes or supplies or committing crimes that otherwise harm people, it's fine.
At first he got terms wrong or didn't understand them. Transgender is the cross-dressing, right? No? What did he get wrong, is it called transsexual? "I forgot my dictionairy in my purse."
Edward Nygma on the other hand knows a lot (whether you headcanon him as trans or not), but since he's not in any the queer community, it's possible that he's using outdated terms (like calling women "Miss" instead of "Ms.") or scientific terms that make the average person go, "Huh?".
Tries his best though and loves celebrating personal wins like gaining new friends who know you're trans and respect it or mean people leaving your life.
