The true test of your progressivism is this:

- Are you trying to reshape materialist, intersectional analysis into new categories of ontologically good people and bad people?

(Letting yourself and your allies of the hook for bad behaviour and giving you license to dehumanise your opponents and do worse from there)

- Or are you using these frameworks to examine how people contribute to unjust systems, choosing your allies and enemies based on their actions and what goals they are trying to achieve?

(Allowing yourself to work towards achievable political goals and find reliable support based on realised common ground and not on professed loyalty.)

The former is just red reactionary thinking, contributing to more division and discrimination.

The latter is a consequentialist strategy that gives you a way forward and a means to keep your core principles intact.

Saw a video from a former activist friend claiming to be a desperate video from a Gazan. In American English with a Midwest accent. Wearing a generic black and white shemagh as a "keffiyeh". Against a clearly edited in image. The person in the video claimed to have been starving for seventy days - but the image recorded in the video didn't match this information. Will they just believe anything that fits their narrative? Don't answer that. I know the answer.
