Happy Left-hander day: The education system was made for right-handed people.

“The brain is split into 2 hemispheres and is “cross-wired” so that the left hemisphere controls the right handed side of the body and vice-versa.

The left hemisphere controls speech, language, writing, logic, mathematics, and science, and the right hemisphere controls music, art, creativity, perception and emotions.

Lefthanders have a dominant right hemisphere (thanks to the cross-wiring).

There are certain frustrations that lefties will be familiar with. Because only about 12% of the population is left handed, nearly everything is designed for righthanders, which makes the following rather tricky:

It really pisses me off when I go to a class of about ninety people that has maybe five left-handed desks and I see someone who I know is right-handed sitting at one of the left-handed desks. Like no, those desks are not there to be random, they're there to be nice to the people who ALWAYS have to reach over to the other side and attempt to write in a right-handed notebook without anything to support their writing arm. I HAVE STRUGGLED THROUGH A LIFETIME OF NOTEBOOKS, BINDERS, SCISSORS, DOOR HANDLES, AND OTHER RIGHT-HANDER-BIASED ITEMS AND ALL I ASK IS THAT THE MOTHERFUCKING LEFT HANDED DESK BE AVAILABLE DAMMIT!!!
