I did this workout with my cousin who is an amazing new mom👩👧! She talked about the challenges of feeling like a successful mother, how tough breastfeeding can be, cooking, laundry, let alone going to the gym. She told me the first time back at the gym, she pushed herself so hard she almost fainted. She was disheartening by the fact she couldn't lift as heavy and how hard things were and so she didn't go back for months. Whether it's motherhood, school, work or even an injury, life sometimes gets the best of us. When we find ourselves away from the gym for long periods of time it can make going back hard. I get how disheartening it can be see your progress & gains diminish and having to "restart". It's okay to not be as strong, or well conditioned as before. Don't look at that as a failure but as a reminder of what you can be capable of doing again. 🔹Start with the mentality that lifting lighter isn't a sign of weakness 🔹Build up to higher intensity workouts as opposed to going so hard you can't walk the next day 🔹It's not about going big or going home, but going and showing up for yourself whether it's for 15 minutes or 30 🔹Listen to your body, the no pain no gain mentality is dumb.
