Animal Counterpoint
Legend hated being on watch when he was tired. They all did. But everyone was tired and he had drawn the short straw that evening. He had only grumbled a little over his fate and when all the others rolled up in their bedrolls, he settled before the low fire, resigned to his fate.
He still hated it though.
They didn't know where or when they were. Too much forest, not enough civilization. Most of the time things didn't change that much between eras, or at least, the trees were often the same types in central Hyrule and unless they ended up somewhere very different, like the Great Sea, they had to find someone who would tell them where they were. That was fine. Some of the others loved talking to people! Not him, of course, but there were enough of them to make it work.
Yawning, Legend stood and stretched, wondering if he could use his time awake to figure out that particular mystery. He tried to tell the others it could be the lost woods but noooo, there "wasn't enough mist" or "the trees aren't spooky enough" or "what's the Lost Woods anyway?" It wasn't his fault the forest lived up to its name! From all the maps they compared amongst themselves, it seemed like the Lost Woods never wanted to stay in one place too long anyway! So they could be there, couldn't they?
