Tried making some Matoran from a few different body segments I made

the segments below the cut

I was trying to go for a rock climber build for him, very lightweight and muscular.

And yes, both models were designed the same year. The smaller one is a "silly" combo model of 7001 Baby Iguanodon and 7003 Baby Dimetrodon, while the larger one is an alt build from 6720 Tyrannosaurus Rex.

If you were to ask me what is the most underrated LEGO constraction theme, it'd have to be LEGO Dinosaurs from 2001. (Yes, the same year a certain other constraction theme premiered.) Four canister sets with four different models each, plus four boxed "baby" sets that, except for one, each corresponded to an "adult" model from two of the canister sets. (Yes, the blue baby sets double-dipped on the same set's alt builds.)

Not only that, the instructions were fold-out, with intuitive model design for the canister sets on one side and playmats on the reverse which could be combined roughly into one ultra-playmat. (The box sets had detailed instructions and the same playmat design across all four of them.)

And what the baby sets were lacking in rebuildability, they made up for in combo models:

Ah, yes, chimeric horrors beyond my comprehension. (And a fairly accurate modern depiction of Spinosaurus to boot...?)

Overall, a simple but easily collectable theme. 10/10, highly recommend.
