I love this little minor side plot about Lehas planning a surprise party for Calintz, I mean... it's Calintz's birthday! Not to mention how prior to this point, we had the mini 'quest' about getting the party (particularly Calintz) to go around finding the materials to craft a birthday present for Lehas.
Like yeah, the plan's seemed more like a method for them to appease Lehas's 'wrath' for causing her so much trouble, tho who's to say that Eonis hadn't noticed that Lehas had a soft spot for Calintz?
It's not just because it hints slightly at Lehas's possible secret affection towards Calintz (which you'd barely notice earlier in the game with Calintz being oblivious et al), but also because we got a bit of tease on Reith/Calintz ship. I mean... Reith even got so excited with the plan - I mean, they even got so excited to pull the surprise party for the birthday boy...
But then, knowing Calintz who just so focused on his secret mission, he wouldn't have thought that Lehas would want to celebrate his birthday of all things. Though yanno, it could've been better if Lehas had insisted in making the team stay...
Then, maybe... they could've been around when HQ was attacked.
But dang... Calintz had so much emotional baggage to deal here. Like here's that guilt about not being able to reach HQ (and help Lehas) in time, the regret about not treating/understanding Lehas better in the past, realizing Lehas's feelings for him... and then there's his confusion and complicated feelings for Reith.
I kinda wished I could dwell on this plot a bit longer instead of having the plot speedrunning with the whole Light of Salvation shard plot. XD
