BIG ISLAND RED LEI 🌺❤️ MANAOLA Thankful to use all locally Big Island grown carnations, roses, petite Anthiriums from Waimea, petite bottle brush and Ulue from Honoka’a and some palapalai for the @manaolahawaii LEI Contest today in Hilo! This is my lei, I used local bottle brush to mimic the lehua, since I heard from the moment I arrived about ‘ō’hia needing to be protected from the ROD (rapid Ohia death fungus) killing off precious lehua trees. It’s been A “no-no” to use here on the Big Island and ‘Ō’hia groups are trying to spread the word to not use right now go check out these groups: ❤️@ohialegacy @lyonsestate @ohialife . . . . #leicontest #hilo #manaolaleicontest #ohialegacy #lehua #kahiko #hula #merriemonarchdaswhy #merriemonarch #leisbyleilani #sharethealoha #ohialove #leilove #leimaker #heleinonakauakau (at Hilo, Hawaii) https://www.instagram.com/p/BwvrEctBCD7/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1im8llnjk0v1j
